I like how the changes "suggest" that zerkers and warriors (and thieves?) use two-handed weapons... suggest like a boot to the face. ;) Did Double Grip get its new tweaks, or are those still pending?

Druids - good riddance. I'll sort of miss psis, though... partly because they were so gimpy, but mostly because I just like spamming 'f awaken Stupidhead' from some obscure hidey-hole.

First time poster here; changes provoked me into asking a question. Relative newb here, so does this mean that warriors will have a better fighting chance at level 50 again necros/illusionists/shamans? because it mostly seems to me like people are worrying about warriors having too much strength at lower levels, and no one is asking questions about the dominance of spellcasters in the higher levels.

anyways, rather uncritical question, but thought i'd ask it because my head hurts too much right now to actually trace the advantages vs. disadvantages of the changes. maybe someone else can do my thinking for me Smile

Warriors aren't weak at 50; they just don't have the edge over most classes that they did have from 1-45ish. The other downside is that warriors are very gear-intensive - you won't do too well as a L50 warrior with red dragon armor and a hell-blade, especially not compared to a shaman. At L50, Warriors should (theoretically) have to use tactics to defeat their magically-inclined foes, such as dirt kick, disarm, running around until a duplicate or two expires, etc. Not all that complex, but they generally don't win fights by standing tyhere swinging.
Then there was Ugula. Mage wrecking ball. It goes to show that equipment goes a long way...

The changes seem to make things more logical and to introduce tactics to fights. Previously, the given rule for fighters with Duel Wield and Shield Block was "vs. fighter, use shield; vs. mage, Dual Wield". With the introduction of the changes, it's not so simple anymore. Combine this with Double Grip and Preferred Weapons for warriors, and it looks to me as though warriors actually did get a nice little buff.

To sum up: as long as the changes prove to be more or less bug-free, they look like a good thing.

A Well-Used Trail Through The Forest
You are on a forest trail that runs in all directions but north, where
the forest skirts the sheer mountain face. Dew-covered hawthorn bushes
flank the east trail, along which several rangers are walking. It seems
to be the woodkeeper's outpost.

[Exits: east south west]
A nymph looks coyly at you, then winks mischievously and dances away.
A beautiful lady is talking to some animals here.
A dryad peers at you inquisitively from behind her tree.

If you aren't really camouflaged, your ambush is much weaker than your camo'ed attack. Remember, 100% camo does not mean 100% success.

To all those who said AR was destined to die do to stagnation, and that the imms were against any kind of change whatsoever..

PWNT

I think we can all agree this beats out gargoyles, samurai and slith shamans.

I wonder how long it'll be before FL copies all of this?[/b]

I like all the changes. No bugs to report. By the way... FL isn't making any moves to copy yet, but betcha by new years they announce an update they've 'had in the works' and by valentines at latest our shits coded in. Good job, i'm testing all I can to look for any bugs in so far. None yet, and I love counterbalance with my bard. Halfer bards are nice.

Bug, another side affect of fixing defences. Someone tried to multiply an int by 3/4 (pretty visible sign of someone with no coding experience, coding). It was a very old bug, but until now it was self-policing since the bug was unreachable. for the record, when you multiply by a 3/4, you multiply by 0

Lets not badmouth other muds on the forum, regardless of whether its justifiable, we can have a little more class than that.

Also, let's keep the commentary on the General Feedback Thread and keep this one for bugs/implementation issues, like that ambush bug that was unearthed.
