As you might have noticed, the perimeter guards have been adjusted a bit
to react differently to how we are accustomed. In addition, the gate guards
also will be attacking people who attack the perimeter guards of the town.
This is to defeat script training players.

Note that being seen fighting gate guards IS illegal, and the yell will be taken
as proof of that attack.

A gate guard yells 'Maxten is attacking the guards!'
A gate guard screams and attacks!
Maxten yells 'Help! I am being attacked by a gate guard!'
A gate guard's punch wounds Maxten.
A gate guard's punch decimates Maxten!
A gate guard yells 'Maxten is attacking the guards!'
A gate guard screams and attacks!
Maxten yells 'Help! I am being attacked by a gate guard!'
A gate guard's punch devastates Maxten!
Maxten is stunned, but will probably recover.
A gate guard's punch DISEMBOWELS Maxten!
Maxten is DEAD!!
You hear Maxten's death cry.
A gate guard yells 'Isopnut is attacking the guards!'
A gate guard screams and attacks!
You yell 'Help! I am being attacked by a gate guard!'
You block a gate guard's attack with your shield.
A gate guard's punch misses you.
A gate guard yells 'Isopnut is attacking the guards!'
A gate guard screams and attacks!
You yell 'Help! I am being attacked by a gate guard!'
You block a gate guard's attack with your shield.
A gate guard's punch misses you.
A gate guard's punch mauls you.
A gate guard is in excellent condition.

So this is absolutely the best idea that is ever come about! I am totally in favour of killing every newb that gets attacked by a perimeter guard, then gets attacked by a gate guard for getting attacking by a perimeter guard.

I dont mean to sound a little upset here, but I think this is honestly bar none, one of the worst ideas. There needs to be a bit more decision behind the guards just spardocially attacking people. That seems neither lawful nor helpful to the newbs that are wandering about.

1) Its not sporadic, you have to attack perimeter guards. You don't get randomly attacked by those.
2) A change has been posted saying they'll attack.
3) Newbs aren't ranking up on the guards by chance, they're not that newb.
4) The change has to throw a tool into the works of a battlement-walking script one way or another

I don't expect it to be a popular change, because its to discourage ranking/training on those guards. I've posted a list of other areas to level in the training grounds.

However, I will relax the attacks for level < 15, since those levels they're not much of a ranking mob anymore.

Right, I've tracked down the reason for the "sporadic" attacks, and they should have stopped, so if you get one put it here, and attach your last 2 minutes of activity if you can provide it. By the way I'm just going to reiterate that NONE OF THIS applies to wanted players, its normal proceedings there. I don't want to make life more difficult in that respect, it should be well-known that I'm not a fan of the city guard script helping out so effectively.

Ive tried training monk anatomies on gate guards and I found it to be absolutly worthless. Just wait till 35 or so, hop into monkey stance, and spar someone for 5 minutes. Much easier then spending hours training on the guards.

The only 'training' I've used on perimeter guards is my weapons, you can still easily train your weapons on them. If your trying to discourage thieves/ninjas from practicing blackjack/strangle, then it will have no effect. The most common thing I've seen them do to train is:
hide; hide; sneak; sneak; n; bl guard; pry banner guard; give banner guard; ba guard; pil banner... In fact it will help them more, they'll actually know if they're sneaking/hidden. The only thing it does is gives lawfuls a harder time ranking.

No, use players, or perhaps some of the other 2000 mobs in the game.

If you use any type of mob for training anatomies you are on crack. Even the mob anatomy can be trained easily on fell if you can find one in pk, dont try to kill 'em, just dirt and when they are about to die. Flee let em heal then come back in for some more training. You can train anatomies in the most odd places, on Eires I dueled Resatimm and he put my undeadn anatomy up to 70%. And he questioned my motives when I entered monkey stance! Buahahaha..

Oh yeah.. the guards.. they are alot better. I have a few newbs lately and they arent getting attacked by the guards as often nor are the gate guards attempting to kick my ass every ten seconds.

I had forgotten to grab a screen shot, but recently (as within the last 3 days) I had a char attacked by an Ofcol Cityguard.... which happened to be at the north gate. Wandered back through town and was attacked by a gate guard. Is the program triggered by any guard in town? Or just perimeter guards..
