Attention all citizens! Suiciding or otherwise dying to a creature as a
criminal will not longer prevent a WANTED criminal from being apprehended.
Instead, WANTED flags will now persist through death unless the criminal is
killed by a person, whether Justice or not.

As an alternative to being apprehended, WANTED criminals can now use the
PAY command at Iluvim the city secretary in the Seringale City Hall to pay
off their debt to Justice for breaking its laws. Be forewarned that the
price for paying off a WANTED flag is high, and increases for more powerful
criminals.

Citizens are hereby reminded that WANTED criminals are WANTED dead or alive.
Justices will *not* be giving any leeway to those who claim to be raising
money to pay off their WANTED flags, or who want safe passage into Seringale
to pay off their flags. Justices will still attempt to apprehend criminals
on sight. If a criminal wishes to avoid apprehension by paying off a WANTED
flag, he must also successfully evade the patrols of the Justices until then.
NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED.

Bountied criminals and criminals of chaotic ethos CANNOT use the PAY command
to prevent apprehension. The only way for them to lose their BOUNTIED or
WANTED flag is through death.

Be warned that even by paying off a WANTED flag does not pardon a criminal
his actions. One's criminal record still worsens in the eyes of the Justice
cabal whether a WANTED flag was removed by apprehension or payment.

I don't like this. It's basically saying the rich can get away with anything, and that I can kill you, if I can pay the price, making Justice look corrupt.
I don't even care if it's a ridiculous amount of money, it's still crooked. It's just another version of paying Legion protection money, except you pay this per individual person you kill in exchange for a get out of jail free card.

It's kinda like trying provoking problems with Justice. Still cool though cuz I thought that it should be that way (the dying to a mob and still be wanted), but the money thing. To further economize Thera with money.

Soon the 1mill balance will need to be lifted if this keeps up.

So does this mean that if I am killed by a guard that is justice controlled, or to the aid of justice that I will still be wanted? If that is the case it sounds like a terrible idea...

No, like dying to Acholl-As, you'll still be wanted. Not a guard, you'd be apprehended.

Pay flag is unreasonably expensive in my opinion. I don't see the use for it as is unless you are completely rared out and you are a repeat offender so they will take everything.

The more important difference this makes is it holds the key to breaking boring sit-and-wait stalemates. With a (pricy) way out of the flag, its possible to spend 2/3 hours making the money to pay off flags, instead of spending 2/3 hours waiting for justices to log off, and the townhuggers with them. You still have the problem of how you're going to pk somebody while wanted, with Justices on.
