Think dirt kick is all that? Think fleeing from a hobble is a good idea?
THINK AGAIN. It is time for you to recieve your first Lesson.

Pincer attack : Attack a shield blocker with both weapons as he flees.
Sidearm smash: A mighty overhead strike as a dual wielder flees.
Stun volley : A powerful throw as a two-handed user flees.

All these changes apply to those foolish enough to flee hobbled from
a master warrior in a superior combat style.

I always thought hobble was pretty much a death dealer anyways, kinda like dirt kick but hey, now hobbles even more devestating. Three cheers for balance! Hip hip ..... Hip Hip...... Hip Hip.. Oh who am I kidding, it's pretty gay.

Really, its just so that dirt isn't the most dependent skill for a warrior to use, hence the dirt change too. As a lot of pk fights have just been a battle of the dirt kick, so for warriors (especially low dex warriors), trying to gear them to hobble by making it more important than dirt kick.

Other skills coming in too, so it just seems like extreme warrior buffing for now. I assume it will get better.

Yeah.. except that, oops, you forgot they need combat style so just switch style/flee. And theres no excuse for not doing that since hobble isn't blindness.

Drows may get hobbled easier due to their low str, but the warrior still needs to get the style right to get these attacks off. Its not their fault if you choose to play in perma-counterbalance making it easy for them.

I second that motion. Someone needs to get a job and get a life and stop being a tosser and start paying attention to their wife so they don't have to feel like they need to make changes every 5 minutes to feel like they accomplished something in life.

Where's that forum for people that have a mud addiction? anyone got that address again?

* Putting on an act of superiority to hide their low self esteem.

You may become aggressive (fighting) when you feel embarrassed by your difficulties.

1) they need to be hobbled, which only lasts 2 rounds anyway
2) they need to be in an inferior combat style, which the victim can correct before fleeing, or just cast weapon ward (which the warrior has to work to secure, and especially with the stun volley that requires javelin equipped)
3) the warrior has to succeed skill checks in BOTH concentration and the related weapon skill

I'm sorry if you still think its cheese because you can no longer just word of recall your way out of it anymore.

I haven't seen the any of these new attacks in action but I'm a little surprised just because hobble is so buff already. If you have dodge and get hobbled its an instant flee because its so strong. And the collapse lag component already does the job. Basically you either flee immediately, or if you let like a round go by hobbled and flee the guy should be able to follow you and murder you while you are still lagged easy.

Or you could stay in combat without dodge which in most cases is a massive gimping. The reason I say hobble is strong is because its not like you can switch weapons and get your dodge back, the other guy hobbles you and pow you're now screwed for the duration. Its easy to say oh well don't be at combat style disadvantage, but when do people ever just sit at style disadv and the other guy says oh hes at disadvantage I'll use my hobble! No, more like, the guy is looking at his prompt, figuring out what he needs to make style adv, and does wear weapon --> hobble back to back. Its not like you wear a weapon and theres a 1 round wait on using hobble or something so the other guy could actually switch out style to avoid your hobble.

I'm not sure how you came up with hobble = flee for dex-based guys. Fighters will have at least two other defences available to cushion the hobble problem, including shield block which is even unaffected by hitroll. Pals/dks dont even dodge, mages dont dodge, cleric dont dodge, the only guys suffering are rogues - and that was quite intentional.

When considering the overall affect of dirt kick (i.e. blindness affects ALL your defences, and your own attacks) losing dodge is pretty comparable with several defences involved.

dirting so they can't flee recall is nice too (word = altar smack)
also so they can't quaff recall nor flee when recall falls right after tick (if you want to win with dirt, wait off 1 tick on his purple then dirt right before the second tick)
also dirt = no weapon switching so no weap type switching nor combat style switching = owned

balancing warriors is a beast of a task and hopefully we'll get some parity there. for now, imo, you'll be stressed about the changes if you like to play rogue classes. all the other classes should be fine.

This is one of the actions people with low self-esteem take, according to the next link

my point is its about who starts the fight with all those advantages. Theres so many to choose from now, that doing many combos would instantly make the other guy die, especially since now recalling isnt something you can do. Basically whoever starts it finishes it unless the other guy gets lucky.

Hobble = flee or not still sitting by enemy = more enemy skills/ overhead/ barrage/dirt = more gimping and still hobbled unable to run = eat pill quaff recall or die. No chance to win.

almost forgot. Since there is so much stuff already, including combat styles and everything else, all this new stuff will mean people who were vet at the old system learned the new system easily because they can devote time to that, meaning they can then learn all this stuff now too very quickly, meaning they now have a three part advantage over pure noobs, and anyone who was slightly mediocre for pking is now owned by the system above.
