I've made some more changes to autocomplete. It won't be turning off by
itself anymore. Please report bugs in the usual manner. Bugs are expected.

hey

please report bugs with this HERE. I dont want to deal with the buglist at the moment, it takes a while to scroll through all those. this is a big enough issue to be separate.

here are what the features are supposed to be.

SENTIENTS

1) check for player or mob exact name
2) check for partial matched player
3) check for partial matches on mob names
4) check for mobs long descs in the room

about 4) what it means is, if you see "A tough looking guard is here", and you have autocompl on, you can "ki lookin" to kill the guard. case sensitive. unless theres a guy called lookin standing there.

OBJECTS/DOORS

1) check for exact match on object
2) check for partial match on object
3) check for object words in its appearance lying in the room (e.g. something ugly is here... get ugly -> You get a statue of marsd"

now heres the sort of bugs I am looking for.

1) attacking the wrong target
2) target wont work with regular game commands (I know about unlock and pick, those can affect both door and object is the problem there)
3) huge oversights (for example, the one i just fixed with mirrors)
4) anything involving doors <----- look out for this one, doors are the biggest weakness in the code with respect to this

Yeah about the doors, I turned autocomplete on to test it in Mahn-Tor (That's Minotaur for many freakin doors) .

Ok, now when it was on, I had gotten the runed key and tried to unlock east ( I typed "unlock e") and it said something like "that's not a container". I kept trying it that way and it kept happening. But I then I typed "unlock east" then the door unlocked. Then typed "op e" and it didn't work and when I typed "open east" it worked.

Pt. 2

I was still in Mahn-Tor and tried to open the maroon door. I tried it with autocomplete on and it still didn't work. I turned autocomplete OFF and typed "unlock e" and it worked. I typed "op e" and it worked.

I thought that was supposed to be the other way around?

I don't think autocomplete is supposed to complete words like north south east west up down..in regards to doors.. actually it's been the same even before autocomplete was around.

For example, if you go to a room with a door, 95% of the time, if you type unlock (direction), it won't work, same with open (direction). But if the door is called "door" or "gates" or what not.. I believe autocomplete is supposed to work with those(i.e. unlock d (for door) or unlock g (for gates))..

Now, if you go into a room with a door and run into the door first,(i.e. You see, "The door is closed." or "The gates is closed.") about 70% of the time, typing unlock w(or the first letter of any direction) and open w will work.

Sometimes, I feel like typing open w(or any other direction first letter only) works about 3 times as much as if you had tried to unlock it first(if it needs a key). And if you type open w(direction) then tried to unlock w(direction), it would work.. but that's just more things to type going op w, unl w, op w...

Solution? Alias your directions as full words. I don't run into that problem anymore, every time I type op w, it already comes up as op west.

op n/e/s/w/u/d and open north/east/south etc should work.

I think giants when they fist fight like fire and storm thats fire damage and water why can't you use mana shield on it I tried and almost died.

The reason why that doesn't work amdorin, is because your holding maps... like east thera etc... so when you goto type unlock e.. its trying to unlock the map.. hence its retort. i figured this out with the 1001 lowbies i make, haha

I don't know if it's intended of not, but autocomplete allows you to use the last few letters instead of just the first few.

Maybe it should only match long descs starting at word breaks. The log hitting a triton watchman instead of a gnome man was funny.

Well it wasn't actually instead of a gnome man, the gnome man was dead. It ALWAYS looks for exact matches first. I will keep the word breaks thing in mind though, probably going to fix unlock and pick first. Seems I have a virus so its going to be stuck as it is for a bit until I get over this.

ok I decided to remove the long desc checking for mobs, its been more confusing for newbies than it was without it.
