Which AR banner do you like best?

Davairus has a good point. We should get this set up ASAP so we can catch people returning to school since at the very beginning the workload isn't too bad. Let's pick a banner and get this ship sailing.

I'm downloading a 30day trial of adobe flash. If I can't make the shit spin or color fade in two days I'll use whatever one gets the most votes here.

As of now I can't even reconstruct one of marsd's banners on the flash program. Can't seem to make layers. I'll mess with it some more but don't count on me getting the flash to work.

I agree, much easier. If you do use it, here is a tutorial. I've found it pretty useful.

If you know how to do it, I'd prefer you just do it. I have absolutely no experience with computer graphics of any kind. I'm trying to figure out how to deal with layers but I'm getting nowhere so far.

Red, white, and green stand out the most but I like the red one because it evokes more of a bloody/turmoil/evil/conflict vibe which is more fitting than the white one.

Woosh here goes... anyway, what did you guys vote for and what reason?

I voted white although I liked red much, clean and caught my attention out of the other 4 even on a gray background - would probably stand out on TMS too.

Red gave a very ARish medieval fantasy feel that conveys what AR would be like. I'd have given red the vote if white wasn't there.

On a sidenote, it's 7 vs 7 atm. Razz

I voted white because it stood out the most from the banners other muds had up there. I'm in no way upset that red won. I think the dragon looked a lot better on the red banner than the white one.

I was disappointed and surprised in the decision making process.

The forum conversation has been going on since April 2009. Marsd suggested the various coloured versions of the banner on Sep 1. The poll was started Sept 7 at 9 pm and concluded Sep 9 at 8 pm. After such a long “incubation” period, the decision has to be made in 48 hours!? (especially when red and white were neck in neck). For such a close call, I would have wanted/expected more Imm input or guidance.

There were no instructions in the poll as to how long the vote would continue. People are still currently voting and have no idea that their votes won’t count because the decision has already been made. The poll should actually be closed/shut down. Also, this voting period was during the long weekend and some people might choose to take vacation attached to the end of the stat and might be away. The decision on how long to keep the poll open might have been too quick. And since the votes between white and red were so close, and at the time of writing this actually tied, I was expecting to see something from the Imms to make a final decision (o) at least give comments or direction).

Can the 7 month contract with TMS rotate between the white and red banner each month, rather than have the red banner for 7 months. Can the original clear symbol/icon (on the white banner) be put into the red coloured banner?

Also, love Kalist’s idea of putting the banner/icon on the Abandoned Realms website.

And, I think it was Iolo who said it and recognized it formally, but thank you Marsd for all what you did making up a banner and all the effort and learning you went through to do it and your time.
