Somebody asked to see what we are doing so here you go
Code: |
1650 closed points of effort since 14th October 2014, giving a velocity of about 38 per week.
Issue breakdown
Critical: 477 (16 open)
Urgent: 138 (25 open)
Major: 162 (37 open)
Minor: 277 (100 open)
Trivial: 5 (5 open)
183 issues are open, with 197 points currently assigned to them. 1130 are currently resolved and pending final review.
|
note: 2 points of "effort" is typically 1 hour of work, also for the numbers, the number on the left is literally how many were opened (not an effot score) and the number on the right is how many are left to fix. the trivial count is new issues that have not been assigned yet. they typically come in like 4-5 new trivial per day and can get closed without any code or game change. we work downward critical -> urgent -> major -> minor. everything above trivial necessitates a code or game change
You can see that there is about 100 hours of work to do on AR to take care of all player reported issues, and you can see from our velocity that it is a couple months to catch up to the present. But there will be another 100 by then.
Of course there are also undocumented fires and interruptions but this should give you an idea of what we are doing. Also this is just the bug list not the idea list which is about half of ths size again. We have been gaining ground steadily but there was a point where I think the playerbase as a whole realized that this system was getting things done and sthen suddenly it EXPLODED with all kinds of issues and bug reports that put us like 5 months in the hole.
Hopefully that proves insightful and offers perspective into how fast the game quality has been improving since the bug tracker was built in 2012 (it wasnt prioritized and logged properly untikl 2014). Also why everyone who comes back feels like there was a whirlwind of change. Its going to be like that until this slows down a little, as we really are blazing through 20 years of unfixed bugs. |
