I agree, and peppering these types of secrets across multiple areas makes the most sense.

Really great feedback from everyone so far. I've already started implementing many of the things in this thread.

Next up: gear.

You as players will have a unique sense of what armor/weapons are missing from the game. Ever thought that there aren't enough mal save rings, or goodie maces, or potions granting armor? Do lawful evils not have enough weapon choices? Wonder why there aren't more wooden items to take advantage of storm giant wood vuln? (These are just examples, not actual gaps that I've identified).

Please share your thoughts and experience. Maybe check the Codex first to make sure the item gap you think exists isn't just a gap in your own game knowledge. But ya...bring it on. I don't want to populate this place with a bunch of stuff nobody needs.

There are a number of decent maces. Just gotta know where to look. You a lightning good aligned invoked? Get the titanic trancheon. Evil fire? Get the smoldering sceptre. Neutral? Want a magic or physical. Skull headed mace or red steel Warhammer. Also, earthen hammer of the dwarf king

Again, the mace example was just to show what kind of thought processes I'm asking for here, not that we're short on maces. Smile

Maybe another mid level ranking option. Something that has both good and evil mobs so that ranking groups could potentially run into each other.

in situations like that you could he the door open to a song. but make the door passable. done deal. bard has a secret place to run. counters by someone who is prepare with supplies

It seems like there are 2 winning recipes when it comes to equipment:

-Hitroll/Damroll (for weapon users)
-HP/AC (for spellcasters)

Note: there are exceptions, but I believe this statement is fairly accurate.

That being said, I'd like to see more variety in the following areas:

-quality consumables (particularly offensive options)
-HP/mana/move regen (still pretty limited since it was implemented)
-useful items that cast spells or have unique effects (been seeing more and more of these, which is good)
-sets outside of the hit/dam/HP/ac equation.
