From the helpfile:
"Participation in Quests and Events accumulate quest points, which you can
redeem in your guild for special rewards. The more quests you complete, the
more experienced you will appear to others in the lands. Master explorers
are also provided with a training bonus. "
1) What are these quest points? Is this outdated?
2) Do you have to receive the title of "master explorer" to get the training bonus, or do all quests add to your training bonus?
3) Do secrets add to this training bonus? |

Some quests will grant learning bonuses, like the Granny Jenkins quest. This has nothing to do with the Relics you earn from completing the quest. In the case of the Granny Jenkins quest, for completing it you get:
- 5 Relics
- A short learning boost
In the case of, say, the Dragon Tower quest, you get:
- 5 Relics
AFAIK there aren't any secrets that give learning bonuses. The more secrets you do the more 'experienced' you look to other players when they look at you, e.g.:
He has just opened his eyes up to the world.
He has done a fair amount of travelling.
Vevier, feel free to correct me on the Secrets part since that's your baby. |

More secrets found = better skill training rate. This is independent of the rewards (seen in affects) that some quests give. |

More secrets = better training rate, but not quests? Or do they both factor in? |

Nope, only the secrets, and they can make a big difference between untraveled and traveled. Quests were already outlines: a few Mystic relics and certain ones give experience bonuses (like a smaller guild commission). Way back when the more quests completed the better skill/spell learning rate you had, but that changed with this system, so it's the secrets that fill that role. |

While we're on the subject of this, does anyone else think that 2 relics is too small of a reward for completing a quest? Especially since now I'm learning that completing quests doesn't increase your training rate.
1 piece of equipment from Noliperus is 305 relics, or the equivalent of 152 quests. More quests than I think there are in the game. Even if you spend hours and hours doing 60+ quests all you'll be able to buy with it is a single bartering token, which chances are will get you a worthless gambled item (maybe a good one if you're lucky).
10 relics would be a reasonable quest reward. That would be enough to get you a couple of pieces of Noliperus gear at level 50 if you're thorough at completing quests, or a handful of tokens to spend at the smuggler. |

That's a good idea amping up the relics reward for completing a quest otherwise theres almost no point other then the few that gives experience bonus |

I have WAAY more relics than I will ever need, I think. But that's because I spend almost all of my time killing end-game bosses. I haven't really done any quests because I don't see the point. Maybe if, as you say, the relics were increased or some other type of incentive were given I would do it. As it stands, though, the benefit is pretty insignificant. |

I'm thinking most of the vets don't bother too much with quests because like Forgotten said; they're insignificant. I love the setup of them, it's wonderful, but, piggybacking off of Forgotten again, there really isn't much incentive to complete them. |

quests used to have useful rewards, but then dav turned that into a thing you can buy with gold, as well as a few other things I had no idea what they were for. |

So... thoughts on a revamp for quest rewards? Upping the mystic relics could be just fine; not everyone can go after end-game bosses all the time. No need for experience rewards at all with the surges and commissions (another system I absolutely love, especially with that last change to affect the whole group). What about switching the relics out for health? You know, get 1-2 health added for whichever quests (i.e. 2 for academy quest, 1 for goblin corpses, 2 for whack-a-mole, 1 for pub crawl, etc.) That'd give an edge, but wouldn't put someone out of reach. Complete 50 quests and have like 62 more health |

One time in chat dav threw an idea out about how if you finish enough quests you could choose a one-time, permanent bonus for your character. They were all utility-oriented bonuses- things like extra mv and mv regen, or extra carrying capacity.
I thought it was a pretty good idea. |
