Beia, the dude was talking about the spec that doesn't have unholy strength so that would preclude the chaotic DK. But it's already been established that lawful dks are OP as fuck.

Beia, please think prior to jumping to conclusions. My thoughts are this: DKN was split into 2 specialized specs. One is your basic thug. Smash and bash. The other is geared more towards the magical side of things. Thus said, it doesn’t make sense to me that the smash and bash would have a skill that regenerates their mana while providing significantly stronger hits while the more magical spec has a good initiation skill, but no way to recoup the loss of what they’re geared towards. That’s just my 2 cents.

I feel ya man. The free spells you get with spellstrike is totally worth it IMO. Though I also think lawful DK outside of Justice is just trash in general. Your right though when I think of traditional DK, I think of a glass cannon brute with Unholy strength.

Also, spellstrike clips a good chunk of movement from the caster. What’s the negative drawback of unholy strength in comparison? And finally, with spellstrike does it also take into affect saves and breaks?

Do I’ve noticed the change to mounts. I don’t see how this is beneficial to those that have control over their mounts with their skills. Non-unholy strength DKNs fight better on their nightmare stallions but I see that this is a pointless if you have to keep urging the mount forward and once started almost have no control of it unless you wish to change direction.

you can still move via cardinal directions, the canter and stuff is only enforced for druid stags

Nightmare control is what lets them fight from horseback, but I don't disagree that their new movement is gimpier than it was. With the new riding stuff we drew the line for advanced (old style) riding at caballed riders, but I'm open to letting dk back in on the "type north to go north" mechanic while mounted on their stallion. The only class-based rides are druid stag and dk nightmare, right? And the stag is cantering through the ethereal, which is much different than what the dk is trying to accomplish while mounted.

I feel like a mastered nightmare control could unlock the top tier riding ability. Next question would be do justice/legion dks have the ability to use cardinal commands on their mounts?

Yeah also I think spellstrike should be counterable by warriors/monks. Maybe not the spell part but the massive damage should be countered, it is a strike.

Spellstrike lag should also probably be a little more. You shouldn’t be able to spell strike and fireball before the first real round of combat.

was that a targeted nerf olyn? Maybe we just gotta give lawful dks the riding ability. It's a class differentiator so I'm not as against this as I thought I would be
