Neither of the helpfiles for the skill and the spell you mention indicate that the behavior in the log you posted is unexpected. So either the helpfiles are unclear or there is a bug. Could you log a bug for this in game if you haven't already?

I thought it didn’t have that interaction anymore. As in it didn’t protect against it. That was something of the past.
