It is time for the grandmasters to travel east to the homeland, to
meditate in waiting for the rest of Thera to catch up with us in ability and
devotion. We will return to challenge your blades and your magic when you
are ready. Unfortunately some of the younger disciples missed our scrolls
and have been left behind.

NOTE:
The monk class is now closed. When it is re-opened, it will be announced
here and on the forums.

I'll have to be extra careful not to die...and Dav, if you order a kill-all-the-monks spree, I'll...just don't.

Hah...loophole. That means I don't have to go, because I am the grandmistress of seasons.

Back when I had announced that monks needed to completely overhauled, I should've closed monks right then instead of simply adjusting tiger stance, especially since I had explained in-depth how the issues with monk went far beyond tiger stance. (Monk issues were explained in this earlier post: Changes to monk tiger stance and healing skill.) Now that Combat Modules A and B have been completed, there's no way we're going to go over the changes from those two modules just to make them fully compatible with monks, only to waste time to change those combat skills yet again when we do the monk revamp later on.

No, the issue is with monks, and that's why they're closed until their revamp. It was way overdue; little band-aids like making them ineligible for cabals were just dragging on the inevitable.

No, Eelaedon, you are not alone. I know of another one or two monks that are starting to get up there in ranks. Lightwalker too. No name because I dont want them to get murdered. Just fear not. They are rising steadily in ranks... Pretty strong too; in combat that is.... dont worry.

I played monks for quite a while and helped beta the changes under Avindus. Monks are buff, yes. After they got really buff I didn't play one. Stupid me.

I hope to get to them quick. I havn't actually palyed a monk in 3-4 years maybe, but they're still my favorite class. I'm sure the changes to training have really screwed what made a monk strong anyway. Monks were characters that were very strong without the pimped winter gear, but only if the player spent the time training anatomies and other skills. With the new training deficiencies, especially with defenses, skills just don't increase like they used to. I'm suprised monk strength is a problem now.
