It warms an old man's heart to be able to scribe these words to those
standing with me on this neutral path of ours. Just as those of the Light
and Dark have been able to use the protection spell to assist them in their
adventuring, likewise those of the Balance and any other path now enjoy the
benefits of PROTECTION CREATURE while fighting creatures of Thera. Seek
Jemira in Timaran for such potions.
A necromancer's study is of life and death and not of alignment, and it
is fitting that they also use this new form of PROTECTION CREATURE. And
the SHIELD OF WORDS song of bards also grants the same to nearby listeners.
The various wilderness healing items have also all been improved to grant
multiple instances of healing over a period of time. Jemira's potions of
travelers regeneration and travelers restoration are two such items.
Go forth now, young ones: grow in experience and make an old man proud!

Does this mean necros don't have protection against other people? |

Um... sorry about three consecutive posts, but I have one more question. If you have protection from creatures on you, and recite a protection scroll, will that cancel the protection from creatures and grant protection? |

I'd say experiment with that and find out... it really doesn't take much to try it out.
If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably gonna work like the current "potion of monster resistance/repulsion vs. sanctuary" situation does, where if you have one affecting you, you can't use the other until the first wears off... but I could be wrong, since I haven't checked it out for myself. |

Okay...here's my solution: Neutral necros!!!! If they just 'study life and death' as you say, then they all be neutral. |

Yeah, I guess...all the other alignment-enforced classes have protection, if necros don't, they shouldn't be align enforced. Though I wouldn't want to see a good necro... |

Who knows how the balance aspects will play out, but I like the protection changes as it relates to harvesting. Just too much stuff to collect, one less thing (even if it was an easy one due to nexus or a hop north of town) is a good change. |
