Basically this kind of extremely common situation changed..

As you can see, its actually a heck of a lot fairer. Also, some other things related were fixed, but I've decided not to spare the full details, being that they're kind of lengthy. But in a nutshell, stock diku's implementation of automatic rounds (specifically the function: violence_update() ) is pretty seriously unfair to people who've been playing a while, because the new guys would always strike first. Most diku-derived muds are sadly still using it.... So were we, and now we aren't. Fixing it fixed some other issues...
Might not seem like a big deal, but consider that this was affecting every fight going on. How many times have you seen someone login, raid a cabal, get in an easy pk... this helped. This change is pretty significant as a result.
The affected (and fixed) skills: dirt kicking, hobble, blindness dust, cause continual, cure continual, arm distension's from skills like barrage and overbear, aerial shot, wounding shot, winding kick, reflex mode, rake, bear calls from beastcall, four seasons, heaven's gate, gate.... think that's all of them. |
