They can still have gambled items....... that might give them a decent/good set. |

No they can't... not according to helpfiles at least.
All Keepers swear off all rare, unique, and non-cabal random items to follow the path of diplomacy, alliances, coordination, cunning, and courage, depending on the situation.
Which leads me to believe that keepers will have their own randoms to gamble. |

They do have their own gambled items, which btw are available to the public. not sure if that's a bug or not. |

I heard from an imm that it was near the forest of illusions, so I'd start looking there. |

What do you mean, "Headquarters"?
The cabal grounds are no where near the forest of illusions and someone already said their location earlier in this topic... so unless "Headquarters" is something different.... |

Keeper of Artifacts ain't that hard mob btw. Killed him a couple of days ago, he had some stuff that Yurneepo got sacced from Zlaad/Almitus, like nightfall and onyx shit. It hit's for like 1 maim/mutilate per round thru sanc, is lev 50 mob and can be compared to a master torturer with double hps.
But i won't be telling you of how to find it tho. |

Just thought I'd resurrect this for Keeper talk. Keeper opened Dec. 07, with it now being June 09 (time flies don't it?) .. What do you think of Keeper's impact into the game? Any thoughts? Anyone? |

I don’t know what it was like before the Keepers, but I love the idea of a cabal serving as the balancing force in the realms. I think the Keepers add a lot of value to the game.
1) For players who are average, below average, new or occasional players, it seems nicer and fairer having a cable that tries to limit the rares people carry so the majority of the players don’t get too powerful. The really powerful players will always be powerful and the keepers probably won’t stop them, but I expect most of those powerhouses have game integrity and aren’t going to be attacking people that can’t handle it without cause. I think limiting rares helps stop the scum that knows where to collect tons of good rares and sits at a rank picking off people.
2) The keeper’s ethics of balance seems to go beyond just checking rares. For example, I was in a fairly large group with a keeper helping and the keeper wouldn’t let a knight join and rank with us because he said that the knights at that time were too powerful, which they were. I didn’t understand it at first because it would have benefited the group for that knight to join, but on later thought that keeper’s actions impressed me that he is watching over the balance of the realms.
3) It’s fun, for those who are not a patron or noble, to raid the keeper guardian to get random rares that were confiscated.
4) The Keepers stand for fairness. Justice stands for the law. Having the Keepers as an extra authority group in the realms with a slightly different focus than Justice, means an extra go-to person depending if your character is struggling with challenges of fairness or justice. |

So, I'm curious...how does a Keeper know if an item is Limited or not? Not all items have been indexed on Invokation, and most Keeper classes don't have identify. |

Most of us (both of us?) have a good enough knowledge of the game to know what's rare and what's not. There aren't so many rares, after all |

Or just try putting it in a sack..
I haven't settled into much of an opinion about Keepers yet, but random thoughts: I'm not big on anti-rare being too strong of a driving force behind Keepers; this does not make one a threat. If a Tiqa type manages to collect 20 rares then either good, evil, or independents will take them from her soon enough. If you try to avoid one group (protection/oath) you just further annoy the others - there are always enemies for you. Keepers are just one more pile on. Rather, it would be better if rating was more of a factor. Real threats to gen pop either a) have an above average rating and enough rares, or b) have an above average rating and have personally contributed to some level of ongoing cabal dominance. |
