The crane style symbolizes the swiftness and extension of the crane.
While imitating the crane, this enables the monk to attack with higher
accuracy and precision. Power is sacrificed into mobility that enhances
the swiftness of the attacks.

While in crane style, a monk generates height. Activating this style
temporarily grants the monk the "accuracy of the crane" technique, which
allows them to fly temporarily. In addition, their attacks will now also
deal mental-based damage.

Inking one's self with a crane tattoo will grant an additional skill.

'LEOPARD STYLE'
Syntax: leopard
Combat style: Defensive
Active: Stealthiness of the leopard

The leopard style symbolizes the stealthiness and speed of the leopard.
While in this style, the monk chooses a conservative approach that
prefers to avoid injury over dealing damage. The leopard style employs
a half-fist that enables the monk to target softer regions such as the
armpit and throat, and focuses on simultaneously blocking while dealing
damage.

While in leopard style, the monk will defend more effectively by blocking
some attacks and then exploiting openings in their opponents defenses. In
addition they will prowl (see QUIET MOVEMENT) if they are within forest
areas and do not have fighting adrenaline, allowing an effective ambush.
Activating the leopard style improves these abilities and allows the monk
to do cold-based damage, harkening to the snow leopards they based it on.

Inking one's self with a leopard tattoo will grant an additional skill.

'DRUNKEN STYLE'
Syntax: drunken
Combat style: Dual wield
Active: Dance of the drunk

Adopting a staggered posture that appears off-balance, and holding their
hands with their forefingers pinched as if around a delicious beer nut,
the drunken masters first bewilder and then lay the smack down on their
surprised opponent. The drunken style is widely regarded as among the
deadliest and most difficult to master.

While in drunken style, the monk staggers unpredictably, making it more
difficult to connect a blow. Activating the drunken style affects the
monk with "dance of the drunk", causing attempts to knock the monk down
to be reversed. In addition, the monk deals water-based damage while
they perform their drunken dance.

Being more drunken (as in, really drinking alcohol!) further improves the
dodge chance while in drunken style.

Inking one's self with a drunkard tattoo will grant an additional skill.

The panda style symbolizes the tenacity and ruthlessness of the panda. While
in this style, the monk applies an unorthodox technique intended to confuse his
opponents. He uses acrobatic moves such as rolls and double kicks, making
full-body circular movements, occasionally bungling them for greater effect.

While in panda style, a monk has an excellent sense of balance. Activating
this style temporarily grants the monk the "bungle of the panda" technique,
mimicking clumsiness to avoid some damage, and dealing lightning-based damage
with their attacks. Note that a monk's fatty layer in panda style makes nerve
pressure and acupuncture less effective.

Eating specially prepared food while in panda style makes the panda capable of
even more impressive feats. See: COOKING

The Temple of Balance
You have entered the Temple of Balance, the worship place for people of
neither the Light nor the Dark. Rows upon rows of benches sit before you,
capable of holding a good couple of hundred people, all facing towards the
eastern end of the room where on a raised dais the altar sits, along with
the High Priest's lectern. Stained glass windows depict colorful scenes of
Gods and mortals, and there are many torches lining the walls to
illuminate the large room. These stay lighted even during the day, for the
stained glass windows let in little light. The ceiling arches high above
your head, supported by solid wooden beams. Tapestries hang over the empty
parts of the wall, some with scenes from the past but most just
decorative. You can return to the southern road to your west, or go
towards the altar to your east.

  1. I've seen that happen a few times. I remember dueling someone on a level 50 and something like 4 level 30's tried to break the Juggernaut to come get me when I got stunned. I managed to word out.

    I then returned the favor later on, when one of them was stunned with my level 50. Lol. I've never taken that place for granted since.

    1. just in case you missed it Voglin a level 50 fire giant berserker killed the Juggernaut and killed Farras and I after a duel.

      2. Pretty much this. The arena is not all that well-guarded. I believe that if a player does slay people after their duels though, he gets deathmarked and beaten down by the warlords for it.
      3. I knew this was a possibility but I have never seen anyone do this. If something like this will be allowed maybe give the juggernaut the ability to yell help i am under attack to get notice to the combatants inside. I had no idea he was coming until I saw him center of the arena and ate an annihilate

      1. I personally have a big problem with this and feel it needs to be changed. Not the fact that you can whack the Juggernaut and go in and attack arena participants, but the fact that there is no PK range enforcement when you get in there and start swinging. Here we have a decked 50 steamrolling a monk TWENTY LEVELS his junior? WTF? No way this should be allowed, in my opinion. I'm logging a bug, dammit!

        3. I feel all cabals (coteries on a lesser note) all should have their territorial domains depending upon their input of currencies or funds, deployments, or recruitment. Not entirely like FL, more or less just the mobs not all the room descs. Justice have it well, it would be cool to see Darkhaven incorporate their own rule within their town, and this all does not fall upon the Immortals hard work. You players have the ability to make it happen too.

        1. This is part of the game. you know the arena is not a safe zone. If you want to duel, just do it in the ford or something. That way you know you're safe. IF you want to be a bitch and duel to the stun, then know that there are risks associated with that.

        2. I've been here maybe a month, I had no idea PK limits didn't apply and I was still stunned, unable to do jack when he sneezed on me. I thought the arena was designed more to allow the new people to learn the ropes with a bit more safety in mind. Apparently I was way wrong.
          1. To be honest, it is for that. The flip side to this is that people who know the game will want to use it as a safe place to play an AR version of WOW. "I can fight you and not lose any of my stuff." The draw to this game is the adrenaline rush it gives you, when you know that you are going to get snuffed by someone and the costs associated with that.
          2. I do not mind losing items, it is the completely unfair match up I had an issue with. He is obviously well beyond my capabilities even had I not been stunned and nearly dead.
          3. I get what you're saying. The problem here lies in the fact that people use the arena as a level 15-40 protected area to PK. In order to balance the scales, there is this risk of "You could get smashed in there." 99.99% of the time, you're safe. It's that 0.01% of the time that the flip could get switched and you're done for. There is an alternative - don't duel in the arena. Problem is, with all the level 20-40 squatting in AR, it is very likely that you could get killed even easier AND there is no stun function outside of the Arena or Warlords.

            Considering all the shock at this happening, perhaps a way could be devised to inform people as they enter the arena of the nature of that place. Perhaps the Juggernaut sends a tell at the onset of a duel, "I will guard your life, with my own. Should I fall, you're on your own." at the onset of a duel.
          4. The reason is possible is because we wanted people to be able to eatme-cake down to the same level and duel newbies to teach them the ropes. This "loser" behavior was something that wasn't really anticipated, it kind of emerged later. Rather than remove that function we decided to make it just deathmark and let warlords deal, because it is a way for an evil player to generate heat and provoke people into fighting them.


            Doing this to somebody who played for only a month is pretty much unforgiveable though, and I expect a player to have done his homework and know that he isn't screwing over someone who is new to the game (like you said, you didnt even know this was a thing ). Whether we remove one way to screw a newbie over is neither here or there because there will always be other ways, as well as emergent creative ways, and eventually you will meet his level and get screwed over. Basically the asshole vets need to make sure they do not dick over the newbies, and the way we assure that happens is to have the Immortals fuck vets for doing so. Mericuh.

        3. I am not sure if this applies but perhaps if within the arena an OOL player kills you, two things happen.

          1. You do not lose a life/con point (only if OOL and in Arena)
          2. The OOL does not obtain any PK stats

          You could still be looted of course. This would allow for RP only reasons to kill OOL within the Arena. I think that would be a decent compromise without any rewards or penalties involved other than advancing said RP.

          Thoughts?
          1. I am uncertain as to exactly how PK stats and ratings work, but I am pretty certain he lost rating killing someone that much lower than him.
          2. its a 5 level difference max, and if its more than that they don't gain any rating or recognition
