The only reason my shaman managed to kill a raged fire zerker in the rift was cause I went ballz wallz and rode with an ice staff that thanks to RNG didn't poof. Naturally, I had a backup weapon ready, but I said to myself: "fuckit, we'll do it live."

As for weapon type, I'd avoid bows and be cognizant that the berserker it's down to one defense. If the zerker isn't wielding a twohander, I'd go for the magical staff every time.
