This was my first attempt back into the game. Used this character to learn/relearn the game. RNG seemed to have it out for me, every 8 hp roll in the game. 625 Health at 50 and just under 1k mana. Autosneak is really the only reason I had less deaths here. I had fun with the RP but wanted to go in another direction. I'll be back.
I am on the fence about whether I want to give you guys insight into what is good hp but, just to echo what xanthas said there, thats a normal looking drow shaman max hp.
I've had several 50 fire shamans with what seemed like really lol bad hp that wasnt a whole lot different from this, but you have to put trains into pracs with that guy. What you do well is regenerate it with healing spells so you really need just enough to absorb an ass kicking (3 man gangbang), and then beyond that I'm sure it is worth reconsidering where your stats and trains should really be going. Drow shamans don't bother me on hp at all but I really wouldn't feel comfortable with their parry and shield block because whats the point of a mana pool if your defenses are taxing it extremely hard. Its like reverse fire giant, good defs but bad mana and additionally any work spent curing damage is a cast that wasnt spent on a damage spell vs the opponent. I prefer the principle of going offense on a supposedly "offensive" cleric. I'd also definitely prefer a high max mana over high def if I wasn't losing any offense for it though. Which is why I think the human shaman is unquestionably the way to go at this point and I'd say it always has been.
Thought.. An illthid shaman would be uber on stats, worth its vuln I expect, if anything the vuln would lure in a lot of noobs. You'd have to worry about the gangbang with slash with that one, but there are some classes (actually, shaman is one of them) that have difficulty getting access to slash weapons. I'm not saying the combo makes sense roleplaying wise but I sure find the combination intriguing and would like to see how well somebody semi-competent would do with it. I mean a beia / ozaru level kind of player, not an uber player.
All that said, shaman has seemed a little weak for a while.
Just for point of reference, on average paladins and warriors would do 1/3 of my hp in one round. Of course the ones I fought were extremely well geared. And I feel the defenses are subpar even when mastered. As a drow you count on outlasting your opponent through running and healing with your uber mana regen. I suppose stacking hp equipment is an option, but I don't think that's the optimal choice for a shaman.
P.S. I would roll an illithid shaman tomorrow if you opened it up. (best wisdom for weapon ward, max mana, and better hp.)
I have had at least 3 drow shamans to pinnacle, 2 duergar, about 4 or more human, and 0 fire. my first drow shaman I was really smart and put my trains into mana, and I had like 1250 mana, and like 560 hp, so, I wouldnt mind your 625 base, that seems pretty normal
but tayyah, do you think the heals are con based or like Kato said? I only ever played human and duergar shamans, and I remember duergars self-healing more due to higher base con.
That's why I always considered dwarf healers badass in that department.
I honestly dont recall any difference in healing between any of them, not noticeably different anyways. I also dont let my chars go for very long either, though, so I dont have any experience in the shitty con department, I delete before I hit 20 deaths, and generally have trains saved for con

All heals are con based, so you heal yourself like shit too.
Main reason why I did not want to make an elf healer when I planned on it.

Elf with 15/15 con heals more than dwarf with 24/25 con

I remember when forgetting all the deflective gear on paladin and healing with -11 con. 5 hp cure serious ho :D
