Bodrick was a shoemaker in the city of Grenginsham. His father had
taught him the trade, as his father had done before him and his father
before him. Bodrick travelled from his home village to Greginsham to prove
his hand at his craft, thinking that if the Elves could appreciate his work
then so could any other in Thera. It was here that Bodrick would witness
greed and the horrors of war that comes with it. Being as small as he is,
when the Orcs invaded Greginsham, Bodrick hid under an overturned barrel.
Peeking through the missing knot in the side of the barrel, Bodrick saw the
slaughter of the Elves and Orcs alike. Both sides took what possessions
they could, either from attempting to save it or attempting to salvage it.
In Bodrick's mind, this greed is what brought about fighting, war, and
death. As the flames smoldered to coals and the smell of blood and feces
drifted away, Bodrick came out from beneath his hiding place. Determined to
prevent war and hatred by stopping it at its roots of greed, Bodrick
travelled south by east until he reached the city walls of Timaran.
Here he would call home, here he would train with the local Dwarves for
their reknown was known far and wide. Here is where Bodrick would be remade
anew, taking the surname of Battleborn and armed with the simplest of armors
and weapons he would begin his journey to protect those who were weaker, or
perhaps less greedy than the stronger adversaries that always sought them
out.
Description:
A Halfling of small stature, perhaps even smaller than is normal for his kin stands here, arms folded across his chest in what might appear to be a menacing stance. Large almond coloured eyes carefully observe his surroundings from beneath a mop of unruly brown hair. His skin is slightly tanned and covered in a coarse hair which seems more apparent on the tops of his overly large and dirty feet. He is garbed in a rather odd fashion for a Halfling. Bits and pieces of child sized armor are strapped here and there about his body and a set of matching red bands have been tied off over his tiny biceps.
