Deep in the mountains there resided a sentinel laying dormant. Built in
ancient times he was once a machine of war. Ravaging villages and
destroying armies, the sentinels were nearly unstoppable. The sentinel
named Brilser began to defect. At times he refused to destroy those weaker
then himself. Clearly something had to be done so his masters sent him on a
raid to destroy a small farmer's village. A small task, but one his masters
thought would how his true colors. This was not a fair fight, and as he
gazed around him at the devastation he knew that he could no long continue
this life. He turned on the other sentinels and one by one destroyed his
kin. With a sigh he walked off into the mountains. Finding a cavern deep
inside he went to sleep knowing he would wake when he was needed again.
A crackling noise breaks the silence in the cavern, and dull eyes open as
the rocky mound begins to crumble and shudder. With a great heave the giant
stands to his feet, large rocks and pebbles raining down onto the caverns
floor. Brilser heads out of the cavern and into the world finally knowing
his reason for waking again. To preserve the balance of the lands so that
no others will have to live under anothers tyranny.
