The beginning
Born in the forest, I grew up in a home of strict discipline and unwavering competition between my brothers. My father always pitted us against each other to gain the very best out of his sons. From an early age, I learned to defend myself against extreme odds and deal with overwhelming circumstances. No matter the weather my father would train us in the art of war, depicting grand battles in our small grove. My mother would tend to our wounds, but with the same strict behavior demonstrated by our father. My older brother Gragu was chosen by our clan to represent us in the summer battles. At the time I was too young for the competition, but I traveled with him to learn. His first battle went quite smoothly and he defeated a young dwarf without breaking a sweat. His confidence soared and he did not maintain the discipline our father preached. A sinister drow was his next opponent my brother not respecting his opponent was left with a gracious souvenir, a permanent reminder to never take an opponent lightly for now he could no longer use his left hand. My father no longer recognized my brother as his son due to the embarrassment he caused our proud family. I became the chosen son to lead our family out of despair and change our misguided fortune. The very next summer I battled all opponents of the lands emerging victorious. My family was showered with gifts and wealth beyond our dreams. My parents became so engrossed with wealth and notoriety that they began to feature me as an unstoppable beast ready for any battle. I relished the attention and savored the blood I would spill. Countless men tried their hand in battle, and many lost just that. A dark shadowy figured appeared out of the shadows, she whispered into my fathers' ear, what her request was I will never know. My father laughed in her face as I watched, within a blink of an eye, she disappeared back into the shadows and a spear plunged through my father revealing his still beating heart skewered at the tip. My father fell to his knees nodding at me as he slumped over. The rest of my family fled in fear, from the shadows I heard a soft voice in my ear, "You are not scared?" I responded, "There is nothing to fear, master teach me, I am your student."

Description:

There is a man standing before you at a height of six feet two inches. His body is draped in a heavy robe that is a dark green color. The visible skin on his face is quite ashy and is peeling severely. The hair on his head is matted down but very greasy as if it hasn't been washed in weeks. His eyes are nothing special - a simple dark brown hue but they appear to pierce directly through you. He has a deep cleft in his chin, lined by a square jaw. His neck has a very long and deep scar almost from ear to ear. His ears are strangely pointy and his nose is sharp. His lips are quite thin and you can see perfect white teeth. His finger nails and toe nails have dirt and grit under them. His shoulders are quite square and his body is fairly muscular. Across his waist is belt made hemp to hold his robe together.

This sort of thing happens to everyone at one point or another and it does suck. But as you predicted here it is: you've got to sack up and dust yourself off. Just grab malicious beast, it's a seriously solid set, and get back on the horse.

The recurring theme I've seen in your deletes is something happens that is outside of your control and "pushes you over the edge." To zoom out to a general life theme, shit is going to happen in life that's outside of your control that won't be to your liking and you'll get much more respect if you persevere through setbacks rather than throw a tantrum.

One of my favorite Confucius quotes is: "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."

Look at Rondak. Nadrin hasn't had the squeakiest clean history either. And he rolled up Rondak thinking dwarf zerkers would be l33t (because they look pretty solid on paper with 1114 base hp and stuff) but turns out dwarf zerkers are terrible. Rather than deleting in frustration after his 30th death, he stuck it out all the way to condeath and earned the respect of pretty much everyone, I would say.

It already looks like you've started to grow a bit as a player since the Fharino days and I think you just need to keep plugging away at it.

At first I was a huge propenent of the new changes to the ranking. I thought it would bring more people to 50 and there would be bigger and better battles and RP because it allowed you to not focus on ranking, but to just enjoy the game at the level that it is meant to be played, but instead it's just made people act like babies. There's no investment in the characters. Their isn't ample time to even create any sort of roleplay because you are from 1-50 in a week and deleted in 2! I have been waiting to do something RP wise with a Jotun but they make it to 50 and within a couple of days they delete.

Stop deleting! Its obvious there are some issues going on with the lag, just accept it. Bad luck happens. I was playing this one dialup and when we got a phonecall i was disconnected. Bad luck. Shit happens. If you know your lagging, figure out another way to help. Try to actually roleplay. I promise there are others on there that want to roleplay with you. The IMs are working on making this FREE game better and have already stated on this forum that they are working a solution. It is ok to be mad when something bad happens to you in the game. Instead of deleting just click the X in the top right corner and then try again another day.

Or do something you have never probably done before and become a Herald or noble and try to give back to the game that gives all of us so much entertainment.

As i tried to switch to bow and dirt My screen froze, thought the mud crashed I tried to reconnect I couldn't, tried again and I was able to log in on the second attempt. By the time I logged in I couldn't do anything and I was dead. I think its your server issue that caused the death, if not then oh well.

The point is that it doesn't matter what happened man. Dying happens, thats why you get 60 lives!

If you want to delete early I have no problem with it. A lot of legion-oriented players want to be undefeated and are gunning for Forsaken. If you get pked by a chump like this, it can really piss in your cheerios. Deleting is fine for these people.

What I have a problem with is the bitch fit you threw. You jumped OOC. That's bad news. You're not getting caballed again for a long time.

Heh. You know maybe we should have faster inductions, apparently applicants filter thems lves. Also I don't know why you guys are talking about changes to ranking just because one guy deletes constantly. Most hang on to their 50s with the current setup. I'll admit that the rp lately feels compartmentalized to select characters but that's because they're the only ones that rp. I don't think that has anything to do with ranking time.

As for you Ozaru, I had to fight a pinnacled berseker and shaman who were grouped against me and I was disconnected three times, but I survived. Even when I d/CED with the berserker on me in full berserker mode. Why? Cause I'm a badass a mofo (or I'm just really really lucky.)

                  1. Bottom Line, Imms said they KNOW there is a problem, and that they are fixing it. Clearly as posted you can see that the imms were around when your 'lag' happened, and several other people said they suffered no lag. That is clearly NOT their fault. Obviously there were other factors going on beyond their control. It is just something that you have to deal with. Blowing up and deleting over this is not only childish but it is silly. Because of abuse the super uber leveling has already been nerfed quite a bit. Don't make it worse for the people who actually want to play.

And Ergo, thanks for the kind words.

You guys needn't worry about me restoring the "ranking gauntlet". I have no interest in putting a bunch of boring ranking ahead of you... we can find other ways for investment than that. I don't doubt that the overlord favor change alone is enough to make this sufficiently harder. I'm much more concerned with characters getting to 50 undertrained and feeling useless than I am with them just getting there sooner.

I deleted some posts because they were needless, and also, it led to somebody accidentally outing their own character. Please do not out anybody's characters, including your own.

Refer to above comment. You have already outed this character in exceedingly high profile fashion, and it would not be allowed back into Legion anyway. When I am willing to restore a character, I will offer it. Do not bother asking.

The changes to learning from groupmates has made training very easy, I mean honestly I have a character that never dual wielded once from rank 1-50 and the moment he ranked from 49 to 50, he was at 98% dual wield. Just pointing out that the new system for getting better at skills made training easy. Just do your best not to be using the skills your groupmates are using and you will master a bunch of stuff on the way to 50.
