A Journey of Knowledge
Illithid are borne in mass of eggs where maybe half of the thousand will hatch. Of those spawn Etheath stuck out as being deformed, not expected to survive. An appetite for brains kept him healthy but eating more than his piers was never appreciated. Early on Etheath learned to harvest brains in the dark of night to keep his own hunger at bay and keep from being forced out of his spawning grounds. On such a pilgrimage, through the lands of blinding light, an always curious Etheath met a Mystic named Karea. Karea, a controller of great arcane power, helped the young creature. This help was never forgotten and so Etheath pledged to return the favor someday. After finding that admirable creature, a paranoia of other travelers grew in Etheath and his development of new spells got very slow. Etheath would travel most of his life only trusting a pet caiman and using mercenaries like disposable help. It was not until the painful slashing of medics that his paranoia was no longer sustainable. Find others or never progress seemed to be the only options. Etheath now has mastered his control over illusions but learned of Karea's passing before a debt could be repaid. Continuing to learn all he can is Etheath's way of honoring that debt.

Description:

Creatures from the depths of a dark imagination are the illithid. This one has translucent yellow spots with browning edges in his slimy milky near gelatinous skin. His head is oblong with sunken sides like a tiki mask come to life except this creature also has tentacles descending where a mouth should be. His fingers are elongated, nearly three times a human, and sparks arch into little bolts like a Jacob's Ladder.

Past time to retire. Well done catching me with my pants down at the end there. You did everything right when I was distracted.

I spent way too much time trying to regain items and lost those items trying to engrave boots that can no longer be engraved because they are too valuable. What a kick in the pants.

I also was no longer able to wear the voodoo doll. It was time to move this guy on, my god lost his power.

No worries I will be back, just maybe next time with someone who has over 500 hp at level 50. Life is tough when you are squishy.

That has to be a gross understatement re: your hp.

At 1 prac to learn and 4 pracs per level, you should've had a ton of extra pracs to dump into hp converts.
    2. Seriously like 468 I think without gear.

Did you dump all your converts pracs into MP? yowzies.
    4. I am fairly sure I dumped some in hp

    i liked this character.
    1. Thank you
    2. Can you verify what my max hp was or is it too late?

OK... I checked and saw 440 hp.

The hp you get from going into shock has a very nice coefficient, actually, so this doesn't seem character ruining in any way whatsoever, especially since mana regen is much quicker than hp regen. It looks interesting to try. However, your max hp is smaller than the most possible bonus. Which means you are absolutely right.. you should have trained to 500 hp

I agree the HP was not a show stopper. There is a ton of HP equipment and sets. What I really needed was a platinum might set equivalent for my brain eater and dodge, dodge would have been nice.

I cannot count the times shock and quick mana saved my life. HP regen was rough. The best I did there was those nice little boots that aid the healing in a very secretive way.

Thanks for the double check and I probably dumped most trains in MP.

Also for those who do not know, eating brains equals mana gains. You stock regularly and you can be right back in the fight with a quick snack.

Maybe you could wear a bit of mana eq too then. With enough mana eq could go into shock and be right back at full hp. That seems curiously awesome. Might be stupid but doesnt feel stupid.

Having no mana after shock leaves you in a bad spot, so this is where a squishy brain makes a world of difference, but that snack means no more white herbs, a tricky balance.

well, squids do have 17 con... That's barely better than a drow and only slightly worse than an avian or half-elf. Just saying.

Solid char, really contributed a lot. Nice job. Just curious - why did you drop Mystics and Shadow religion?

I'm gonna say something controversial I think, but I feel the rumblings of a HOE on this character. This dude mana trained an illithid illusionist and trolled everybody acting low-key stupid as Mystic. It was glorious how mad people got about it.
I will never forget him. I legitimately loved this character. And I coded shit into the game for his benefit.
            [reply to Davairus]

I'm curious why you would be curious what others say. Or are you only curious about what is said by people with blue names?
            2. I'm am curious who had positive or negative interactions with the character. Anyone who has well thought out non toxic replies will carry weight of some sort. Not interested in the opinions of anyone trolling, answer the queation?

I only interacted with them a couple times, and that was only for levelling, no real impression was made either way, so I will abstain from having a opinion one way or the other

I would also like to abstain. I haven't really had any interactions with Etheath. Haven't really seen him on while I am, but perhaps we play in different times.
