protections of a larger city that it was regularly raided by goblins and
orcs. The usually peaceful halflings had little choice but to hone their
combative skills in order to help protect their tiny village. With the
assistance of a small dwarven caravan the village was able to build some
defenses with a small, yet sturdy wooden wall for protection. Many of the
halflings became even more skilled with javelins or bows and over the years
the dwarves would come and check on the little village, often times dropping
off a few new weapons to help the halflings protect themselves. The dwarves
also often fought the goblins and orcs as well. Once the dwarves had even
joined forces with the halfling village to repel a particularly nasty attack
of both orcs and goblins combined. During this particular battle the leader
of the dwarves called out a challenge to the leader of the warring beasts.
The challenger answered the call and a duel to the death began. Needless to
say, the dwarf easily won the match and the remaining beasts ran off. This
allowed the village to flourish for a time and with that time they began to
secure a stronger foothold on their niche in the forested lands.
As Farras grew up he was taught the ways of the bow and how to track in the
woods. He was also told the stories of the great dwarven savior who helped
the village defend against what was now known as 'The Great Fight' within
the history of the small village. The halflings had developed some farmland
but were still mostly hunter-gatherers by this time. They had begun regular
patrols of their surroundings to keep watch of any goblin and orc activity
in the area. This did not always prevent attacks but it did allow for the
younger halflings to hone their skills for hunting while protecting the
village. As he grew closer to adulthood Farras was struck with an urge to
see more of the world. As many of his kind do during their younger years,
he set off on a journey. He had knowledge of the forest and was armed with
sufficient combat knowledge to protect himself or at least avoid greater
dangers. He began to travel the lands, satisfying his curiousity to see
bigger things within the vast world he lived in.

Description:
Before you is a diminutive little creature, just over three feet tall; a halfling. He resembles a common human child yet it is obvious he is no child. He has some extremely bushy eyebrows above a pair of curious looking hazel eyes. His cheeks are pudgy and his nose, a little bulbous. Carrying a light demeanor about him, he seems genuinely free of any concerns or worries. A plethora of food-like scents permeate from his person.
