Grewin's Childhood

Born to a father who was a professional swordman and a mother who taught school, Grewin surprised them both with his attention to the arcane. From a very early age he was completely obsessed with magic and spells. His father looked down on him for it while his mother tended to nurture his fascination with the arcane. At the age of 8 Grewin created by accident a huge boulder of ice that crushed a part of his fathers training room, and his father forbid him to continue to play at magic. Knowing that if he was caught it would mean a beating, he continued to practice during his free time after school and chores. His father began training his son in weapons, but knew deep down that he was not as talented with any as he. After graduating the towns school, Grewin made the decision to leave home. He sat his mother and father down and explained that he felt a calling deep inside him not of their choosing. That night he left the town he had known all his life. He walked for days until finally entering the town of Seringale. He applied for and was accepted into the Invoker's guild where he began his training in earnest.
