Haera created on 07th of December 2017, and is dead and gone (18 years old, 27 hours, 8 months lifetime)
Title: the Mistress Songsmith Gender: Female Level: 44 Class: halflingbard
Background history:
Description:
A shortish figure presents itself here. It is feminine. It has loose
chestnut-coloured hair on the scalp. She appears to have very long fingers,
despite having smallish hands. She has a small torso, with a pair of
relatively long legs for a halfling. She has a bit of plumpness about the
waist, but not an excessive amount. Her knees look especially worn and
dirty.
This was mine. I decided to try taking a bard to the higher levels, and I was somewhat successful. The changes to halflings are why I deleted Haera (it was going to be a PITA to use several training sessions to alter my stats).

you can always request a train from the gods in exchange for 20 hp.

I don't get why that's the price. If a race gets altered or a class gets altered, you should either get that shit for free or at a fair exchange. 10 pracs for 10 health at a minimum.

Because I said it is. Race stats and class skills are subject to change. Save trains or suck it.

Lol. Riiiiight. You should totally compensate players for any bullshit changes you are making.

To be honest, my decision to delete was more because I felt it better to have a fresh character than have to waste three of my training sessions to compensate for strength and intelligence having higher maximums. I could have used three of the 5 or 6 training sessions I had left to compensate, but the character served its purpose as a test run.

Arunore, the players were compensated for the stat changes. Halfling dex reductions were returned to the player as trains. This is hardcoded into the game. They got the train they had used back, without being forced to re-allocate it. Also, that race was quite clearly buffed, so how exactly do you propose me to "compensate".
Immortals: "Oh hey guys, guess what, you can now train your int to 19 instead of 17!"
Halflings: "What? This is BULLSHIT. We demand compensation!" *rage deletes in graveyard*
Immortals: "Uh.. okay.."

It's more about if a person calculates how many pracs/trains to use so that they maybe have 1 or 2 for con loss. Trading 20hp for 1 train would mean you're sacrificing 60hp when the true cost is 30hp (+1 str, +2 int, the wis and dex would offset each other). That's huge.

Its because you can train it right back into hp or train all your other things or use it to keep your con maxed. Its important to have a penalty otherwise people would be asking the Imms non-stop for this service and the Imms would be making (probably poor) judgement calls. Having this policy is fairness-minded and doesn't fuck anybody that doesn't overuse it.

Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a rage delete. I was starting to get bored with this character, and I figured if I wanted to play another halfling I might as well do it with the new stats in place. I was actually depending on the 17 INT and assuming every relevant skill and song I practiced would take 2 sessions.

Yes I know, I was responding to Arunore's over-dramatizing. We're good.
