Jeief was born in Seringale. He attended a religious school until he was
about 8 at which point his parents placed him in a non-denominational
school. When he graduated, he did not immediately seek any sort of employ.
He was lucky enough to survive on his good looks and his minimal combat
ability. Although, he trained off and on, he was never much of a combatant,
or into magical things. It wasn't until he'd lived a bit longer that he
picked up on combat skills, but still never delved into magic. He was so
annoyed by the antics of Seringale politicians that he decided he would move
to Darkhaven. While he earned his keep and applied for citizenship he was
seen by some of Legion and suggested he join. Although, not very religious
he decided it would be worthwhile in order to fulfill his hidden desires.
Description:
Matted down black hair falls in daggers over a worn face. Narrowed eyes reflect a certain cruel humor, propped up by dark aged lines. His tall slender figure is clearly used to physical training and seasoned in the arts of combat, even if he lacks the scars to prove it. Though the charisma of a young man, he mulls about with a weary aged expression. The smell of oil is present and becomes more pungent with his every movement.
He didn't just plop the guardian. That's what I would have done.
You've got to bait him if he's guardian pooping. Give him a round or two where he owns your ass. He'll think he's close to the kill. Then draw him out a bit and own. Dude, Jeief, jef, was fucking decked. DECKED.
If all else fails, run way the fuck away and nexus gate back. I dunno, pwn face.
Its all strategy. If I found someone camping the guardian I would rush in, hit the guardian once, let them have a few rounds, then bait them away. Run all the way across Thera. Sometimes if someone is persistent with guardian sitting it takes many attempts of getting owned short term while you whittle the guardian down. As it is, no one should be inside the Cabal before the guardian has been hit. It is not an invasion until you have actually hit the door guard. If someone is cheesing and refusing to do anything else but sit at the guardian. Report them, the imms will take care of the rest.
Nadrin is correct. Report anyone you see sitting at their own guardian waiting for you to walk in and attempt to retrieve. No one should even be on their own path before an enemy invades.
Are you sure about that, I thought guardian sitting was fine for the legion cabal at least. Maybe a higher ranking imm can put their two cents in so we don't get misinformation.
I would explain it but I don't think it will stop people from just ignoring what I've said and doing whatever they feel like, as they're going to feel its more important to "win" than play the part, but here goes. Don't expect people to listen ozaru.
Basically one of the main points about being in a cabal is to defend your gods honor. You do that by keeping your cabal item in its altar and intruders out of the cabal shrine. If your cabal is raided, you are obliged to return and forcefully remove them.
This is pretty simple, but it usually gets muddy. The reason why it gets muddy is best told by some examples.
Shamans can sustain an assault, and harass the cabal continuously, and are very good at PK, even though they are really no threat to the item. Thieves are really rubbish on the defending side regardless who invaded, they are being cornered and liable to get ass whupped. This causes players to feel like they shouldn't bother defending the item because it isn't about the item - its about them. Unfortunately, this is true, but the response is still wrong. The item should be defended regardless.
As for "guardian sitting", it is a tactic. If you're defending your cabal, you of course want to make use of this resource which is provided to defend the cabal with. I have seen Immortals in the past slay their own followers for being at their cabal guardian and I thought it was very stupid of them. However, this also gets muddy. I will give the example of how that gets muddy.
The time that "guardian sitting" gets muddy, as example, is a paladin who is fighting an illithid illusionist. The illithid will get his 3 dupes together, and go after this paladin. The caballed paladin now has a choice. Does he run for his life, fleeing his hometown? Does he try to stupidly fight the illusionist head on? Or does he go sit at the cabal guardian and see how it goes. This is the kind of thing that Immortals will split opinion on. It looks unfair to be able to run into your cabal and turtle in it. It looks like you are promoting a raid on it. This is why the cabal conduct rule says this
[code:1:25ad750f88]
- Do not ignore or encourage ANY attacks on your cabal.
[/code:1:25ad750f88]
Key word here: Encourage.
This word was added long after the original conception of cabals because of that edge case. I personally don't feel it is necessary, or something I really want the responsibiilty of enforcing, but that is what the rules say and is what is required to enforce. We had the discussions. Ultimately, we fought it out and as a group of people playing the game, we came to consensus that this is what we want. You can't pre-emptively sit the guardian. Neither can you ignore the cabal conduct rules because you don't feel they're correct, that is disrespectful to everybody.

Good run, good fights. Dig the hell out of this guy, a pity you deleted.
Roll up something else and go for a run again.
