A secret clan of ninjas exist throughout the world that is unknown to
all, and even those apart of the elite society are unrecognizable by one
another. Members are chosen by ancestry by the Grand Counsel and they are
trained by tactful, powerful and wise experts of the martial arts. From
birth the pupils are chosen and trained, honed into incredibly disciplined
combatants. The Grandmaster is the leader of this organization. He was a
well-respected man whose intelligence and wisdom surpassed all others.
However, he was also feared for his swiftness, strength and ability to
vanish into thin air and reappear to defeat his foe. He was known as
Kamakura.
It was on a stormy summer night that rained poured from the sky like a
waterfall, flooding all the mountains, plains and rivers. It was on this
night that Kamakura meditated deeply, honing his ears to the fury that
surrounded him. Inbetween the streaming crackles of lightning and booming
crushes of thunder, a faint cry of a child pierced the ears of the
Grandmaster. With unmatched speed and ferocity, the Grandmaster came upon a
child who was being washed away in the flooding rains. He quickly snatched
the child from the cradle that she rested in and held her close, studying
her mixed attributes. His heart throbbed as he adored this mysterious
being, befuddled by her human-like stature and keen elven characteristics.
It was then that he deemed her Kazura, which roughly translates to "The
Mysterious One." With the child's name finalized, Grandmaster Kamakura
accepted her as his own and trained her as his own disciple.
As her life gradually progressed, so did the standards of the Grandmaster.
Kazura did not necessarily rebel against the pressure of her master, but
neither did she truly accept it. Her ability to learn the ancient
techniques of fighting with stealth was uncompared to her peers. The same
applied to her ability to analyze her opponent and hone in on their weakness
in order to obtain victory. The Grandmaster was pleased with Kazura and
loved her dearly, but on her 17th birthday the High Counsel erased her
memory of the clan and her father, leaving her in a dark alleyway in a city
known as Timaran.
