Kiyumi's life was tough from a young age. She was an only child, and her
mother died in childbirth, leaving Kiyumi dependent on her father. Her
father was a merchant, not particularly rich nor particularly poor. Her
father dealt in goods from the blacksmith's forge: swords, lances, knives,
axes, arrowheads, and the like.
However, at fourteen years of age, Kiyumi lost her father one day. Her
father had been at his shop, and a thief had come in and attempted to steal
from the shop. Her father tried to stop the thief unbeknownst to her, and
met his end from the edge of the thief's knife. The thief took everything
in the shop, but left his knife in her father's throat.
Kiyumi was devastated by the loss of her father. She took the knife out of
her father's neck, and wiped most of the blood off of it. She took to the
streets for a short time until the local butcher offered her a job in his
butchery. She accepted it, and gained some proficiency with a knife under
the butcher's watch. She butchered pigs, sheep, cattle, and other domestic
animals, and occasionally creatures of the sea.
At sixteen she left this job behind after a royal family took her in as one
of their cooks. She had this job for roughly a year before another tragedy
struck. At one point, unbeknownst to her, somebody slipped poison into one
of the meals. One of the younger members of the royal family died. Kiyumi
was blamed for this, even though it was not her fault.
Once again, Kiyumi wandered the streets. She found solace within a building
owned by a sect known as the Lau Kuan. Their members were impressed with
how Kiyumi handled a knife. Thus, she joined the Lau Kuan sect of the
shadow guild.
As a result of Kiyumi's past, she detests thieves and those who use similar
underhanded methods. She seeks to bring the world to justice, and ensure
that nobody gets away with thievery.
Description:
A beady-eyed, beefy individual of thick proportions manifests itself
here. She is undeniably a heavy individual, with arms as big as a man's, a
large amount of plumpness about the waist forming a belly, and legs thick
enough to stop a charging boar. Although her eyes are a very bright green,
and her hair scarlet in color, she is not exactly an attractive or pretty
individual. Her hands look rather clean, though a scar runs up the backside
of her left thumb. She moves not with a lumbering gait as one might expect,
but with surprising agility for her size.
