The Beginning

Lordoran lounged by the side of stream on Storm Hill. It was a bright sunny day, the birds were singing, and the flowers were in bloom. He was waiting for his girlfriend, as they has a secret meeting planned. It had become harder and harder to hide their relationship from their parents, both sets of whom believed Lordoran and Selina were too young to be romantically involved. What their parents didn't understand, however, was that the feelings between Lordoran and Selina were not just a teenage crush. They were truly and madly in love. Their plan was to marry as soon as they were both 18, with or without the parents' blessing. But Lordoran knew his parents well, and had the strong feeling that they would support them in their decision once they were considered adults.. The parents' reluctance at this stage was purely based on their perceived young ages. Plus, Lordoran was still studying under the Nobles of Valour and his parents didn't want anything interrupting his studies. He was destined for Nobility, and his parents wanted his focus there as opposed to up Selina's skirt. Lordoran heard some shuffling through the nearby brush behind him. At last, Selina has stolen away from her watchful parents and was about to be in his arms! Lordoran stood and turned to face her, arms open.. But instead of his beloved Selina, he was face to face with a man dressed in all black, blood splattering him from head to toe. The man carried Selina's head by the hair, the look of horror and pain frozen permanently in her lifeless features. "I asked her to be quiet while I had my way with her, but she started to scream. So I put an end to that". The man grinned, tossing the head to Lordoran's feet. "See what happens when you disobey the Legion?" Lordoran stood staring down in disbelief, frozen and unable to move. His world crumbled down around him as the realization sunk in that his beloved Selina was dead. Lordoran passed out. When he finally came to, he was alone by the stream. The man had disappeared, but not without letting Lordoran know who he needed to look for. Lordoran knew at that moment that he would put Nobility aside and join the ranks of the Knights, to fight the Legion with tooth and nail until either they were all dead, or he was.
