Hatched high in the Mountain trail, Noliperus Dag showed an affinity for
magic at a young age. He spent his formative years in a nest overlooking the
great city of Seringale. A rarity, his egg was the only one laid in his clutch
and he spent the majority of his time alone as his parents were our securing
sustenance for the family.
Growing up alone, Noliperus began developing his natural magical abilites. As
he honed his talents he began to realize that he had a strong capatcity for
controlling the elements. When the winds would wail and send his nest careening
terrifyingly to and fro he would focus his power and bring his home back to rest.
He continued to develop his affinity for the ways of the mage and his parents
noticed his progress. They began to fear that he would grow restless and leave
to continue his education in Seringale, or worse, follow the Mystics of Arcana,
who were tearing Serin asunder in Malenfaler's bid for power. Fearing for his
safety they forbade him to continue his research into the Arcane ways. Noliperus
resented this and, after a substantial row, he spread his wings and soared from
the nest for the first time.
Gliding through the clouds, filled with elation, he sailed down to the entrance
of the guild of Invokers in Seringale. Determined to continue his education, he
entreated the guild guardian for admittance to the organization. Looking down on
this young avian of just 13 he laughed and bade Noliperus begone from his sight
for he was too young to join the guild. Frustrated by this unforseen turn of
events, the aspiring mage turned to the skies and set to exploring Serin.
Over the next four years he had many an exciting and occasionally dangerous
adventure. Through his exploits he gained a rudimentary understanding of magic,
but without a proper teacher he failed to make any real progress in his craft.
Though this troubled him, a greater concern began to dominate his mind. Even as
his adventures kept him busy he lacked an important component; companionship.
Coupled with his lonely upbringing his feelings of solitude began to trouble him
greatly and he longed for a sense of kinship and belonging.
Driven by his isolation, he began to ask those people he met in his travels about
the Mystics of Arcana, as he recognized this as a brotherhood of mages and the
embodiment of all he desired. To his dismay he discovered that the Mystics had
been destroyed. Resolute in his desire to know the Arcane and belong to something
he flew to the remnants of the Ivory Towers in search of answers.
Sifting through the rubble he came to the Hall of Records and began to read the
history of the cabal. A great time passed as he poured over the scrolls and he
became educated in the history of the defunct brotherhood. Upon the conclusion
of his research he inferred that Malenfaler's evil nature corrupted him and caused
the demise of the once great coalition. Seeing this as a fatal character flaw,
Noliperus resolved to endevor to remain neutral in the matters of Light and
Darkness and focus himself on the development and mastery of his arcane abilities.
Now of age, he departed the ruins for Seringale to formally begin his education in
the ways of Magic.
Description:
As you ponder the heavens a great bird flies overhead.
This must be the largest bird you've ever seen! As it
glides to the earth it becomes apparent that it is not,
in fact, a bird, but an Avian man. He lightly beats his
great wings as he hovers over the ground.
While he hovers here you see his face has very sharp
features. His nose is narrow and pointed. He has very
prominant cheekbones that make his eyes appear slightly
sunken in his face. Noticing his eyes you see that they
are solid blue. He has no pupil or white, his whole eye
is blue. Incredibly thin lips make a barely noticable
mouth and his jaw is very sharp.
His body is light and lithe, allowing him to rise above
the earth. Extending from his shoulders are a pair of
massive wings. The feathers are of the deepest violet
and as you look at them you can see small bolts of
electicity and flame running over them. The robes that
cover his body are made of a fine cloth, but marred in
places by bits of char and frostburn.
He holds the element of his profession. Not a sword, for
he is no warrior. Not a Holy sceptre, for he is no cleric.
Not a blackjack, for he is no thief. Instead he carries
a great Staff of the Elements. From a shaft of the densest
Earth, bolts of Lightning spring to surround a perfect orb
of swirling Fire and Ice. This is truly the tool of an
Invoker.
The hours this guy put into everything about Noli was insane. I remember when he surpassed some immortals in hours played and laughed so hard. His RP was superb and he was simply fun to be involved with. So glad you got into the exalted. Lots of changes happening these days... may roll up a new guy of my own soon.
Think he had a kid or something... I still remember the countless hours me and him put in at Winter just gambling away for hours. Not to mention all the other countless adventures. Was an abundance of fun, that is certainly missed.
It just seems like Zelbin and Noli were attached at the hip when they were around together, on another note i did get to know you pretty well just from our ooc talks and i will never forget those. Hope everything is well and i wish you the best man you deserve it!
