In a castle there lived a beautiful, young poetess named Rosaeth the
Princess of Duskhaven. Not a rich flourishing, royal castle, filled
with life and the pleasant smell of main hall banquets, but a darker
more sinister prison, residing in limbo through an extra-dimensional
pocket of time. Unfortunate souls often aligned the forbidden runes
at Nexus points and ended up here, greeted by the porteress, a raven
named Delilah. Rosaeth was banished here after her village seen she
was infected with terrible vampirism. She was crowned the Doomed by
the high council of magic for her transgressions: heresy, blasphemy,
murder, treason, and adultery, although she pleaded innocence.
The raven always stood a loyal sentinel in the realm of the succubus
and her prey, permitting entry to the most powerful of lost souls who
had wandered to Duskhaven, hoping to provide a quick end to Rosaeth's
unbridled loneliness. To Delilah's dismay, the misguided adventurers
never returned after entering the gates. Their screams could be heard
from inside, causing fear amongst those in line. Generations passed
and everyone Rosaeth knew on the outside was dead and gone. Something
began to happen, however, and whilst star gazing between the dreadful
time lapses, a two-way portal finally opened at the gates of Duskhaven.
