Born in the city, I have always felt at peace within the shadows as an unseen observer of the people around me. During one of my normal bouts of people watching I met a young child with the same desire to see, but be unseen. We became fast friends and began to do everything together. He introduced me to stealing from people without being seen and knocking unruly patrons unconscious with lead filled socks. He was always more brash than I, taking multiple chances and nearly getting caught on multiple occasions. My parents warned me that he was a terrible influence and that I should steer away from a life of crime. The life was becoming more and more addictive with ever gold piece stolen and every man woman and child knocked unconscious. I couldn't resist and left home to be with my friend as we terrorized the local citizens to the point no one would dare leave their homes. Amusingly enough locked doors never stopped us, but one fateful day my friend allowed his boldness to be his demise. He began to forget the ways of a thief and began committing crimes in broad daylight and in plain sight. Our terrorized patrons began to set traps. He barged into a home demanding gold and food, with no response he charged for the kitchen and fell in a deep pit of water to which there was no escape. He gasped for air and pleaded for my help. Not wanting to give myself up I stood and watched him die from the shadows. Emotionless and cold I stood and saw what waste of a life my friend has turned into. From that moment on I made a vow to continue my reign of terror, but never lose sight of myself nor the dangers that lie with criminal behavior. I became a cool and calculated terror, showing no mercy to any of my victims. One night in a bar I heard two drunken beggars speak of haven surrounded in darkness, a place fit for those who wish to learn the true ways of murder and destruction. I packed my bags, knocked them unconscious and stole their map to this Darkhaven. My quest for blood and glory awaits.
Description:
The first thing you notice about this male duergar standing before you is his tiny stature. He is about four feet tall and quite stocky. His skin is very smooth but his nose is horribly flat and his eyes are quite far apart. Ugly would be an understatement as he smiles and you see a variety of teeth all shapes and sizes. His eyes are deeply sunken into his skull and there is a large scar on his forehead. Draping his body is a free flowing robe of the most basic material. His robe is clasped by a shiny bronze trinket with strange markings upon it. His arms are bare, and you notice they are also covered in the ugly scabs that mark him as being the victim of a plague. His extremities are deteriorating, due to gout. His legs are bowed from an unknown disease as he is hunched over. His finger nails and toe nails are elongated and yellowed.
wasn't really feeling the game since the delete of kushtok. Every time I fought someone I was just wishing I was playing a ranger. I don't know if my limited damage was attributed to protection on goodies, but that was a bit hard to over come, or my malicious beast eq wasn't good enough. Also against paladins clobber did nothing, I heard somewhere that is normal which to me doesn't make any sense, but maybe dirt disarm hobble is op on a class like that. I deleted the healer as well because, the same thing. Everytime I logged on I just wished i was playing a ranger. Its getting harder and harder to find more time to devote to this game especially with a class that requires it. Rangers are easy button class and that is probably what I will stick with when I do start playing again. Right now the game seems to be going through a dip as far as top tier playing, just seems like one of those cycles until an active guy starts dominating again with a new char. Seems like a lot of new changes are coming and ill keep any eye out for them, but for now I will just check invokation for good logs to read.
The core of a thief is always gonna be blackjack, pry or steal something important, sacrifice it, then either just leave or go for the dual backstab. They're really good at engaging on thier own terms and when they have an advantage. I wouldn't really want to have to defend the path as a thief if I didn't have backup though.
Oh well, sorry to see you delete. IMO you should have kept it around and just been a little less active until the cabal gets a couple more members.
