Description:
The tiny demon before you is unlike anything you have ever seen. His
eyes are slanted and as dark as volcanic ash. In an effort to make himself
look more evil he has tattooed fangs dripping with blood on the sides of his
mouth. His nose is tiny and delicate, complimented by thin lips and a
square jaw line. His ears are long and pointy with large horns covered in
flesh and dried blood. As you lower your gaze you are caught by his
outstretched wings and elongated claws. His nails are sharp and long like
tiny daggers. His tiny legs barely seem able to support his frame, but his
long tail provides balance and stability.
The raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage still lives, after not playing seriously for a few months and feeling pretty good about myself and my winter eq I forget to quaff a purple and I spammed dispel till I died. This was actually really depressing to see, maybe 60% of the time I log on no one is on. The rest of the time its the same 3 people.
I will say solo ranking with an illusionist wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be, but for other classes it would be such a damn grind.
If I master dispel magic and have a breakstone ring, I should dispel your mana shield and you should die instantly so I won't rage.

why would you want to dispel barrier? when it's up you do direct mp damage. You damage their ability to kill you directly. eat beef;murder idiot ain't rocket science

Not sure if it was changed, but I tested it some time ago. I had an invoker go naked while I wore a mental break ring and spammed dispel like, i dunno, 50 times? It didn't get dispelled at all. You can say i'm unlucky or what, but I took it as it can't be dispelled.

can we get some immortal confirmation that barrier can be dispelled? because usually this is how the game fucks me with some left over bug. yeah chaut sorry for wasting 1 hour of your time and im not a steelers fan i was watching the steelers game and his name was obviously easy to remember and when i travel for work i don't have shit to do, so maybe ill make another char in 2 months

I investigated this and found that illusionists run a stronger version of dispel magic, one that lowers the spell level, which is obviously more powerful. But doesnt seem to dispel barrier. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not.

I'm not sure if i raised a bug on barrier. I was sort of ignored on my bug reports so i didn't even try reporting this. I just took it as it was intentional. Cheesy isn't it? But cheese is so subjective that it isn't even worth bringing up. There are a tonne of even cheesier stuff. Just don't dispel, simple. Just deal with it ozaru. Lol.
To answer your question nyc, barrier is so efficient that if you use three physical illusions to fight the invoker, he'll kill u before he runs out of mana. This is without sanc. And btw, it isn't even difficult to get purples to preserve mana. Lol.

I really wish you could ban people from responding on your graveyard post. Dumbass Nadrin, if I didn't delete and mention the barrier dispel issue none of this would have been discovered. I have questioned spells and skills that I felt were unfair in game and have been ignored countless times. So yes my character had an unfair disadvantage and 61 more deaths shouldn't be the excuse for faulty programming.
