The lands of Serin, once uninhibited by the sprawling presence of man and
civilization was home and sanctuary to all living creatures. This was a
time when Taeranuu first came to exist. His kindred spirits took many forms
near him, treants and fae creatures to even the simplest forms of life such
as birds or insects. His own affinity seemed to be integrally connected to
the oak trees. Much was peaceful in these days of Serin, barring the
natural occurrence of rains, floods and simply nature. So peaceful was the
lands, Taeranuu found what bears might consider hibernation, except for a
treant, a single winter's season was the equivalent of millennia.
Within what has become known to Taeranuu as the primeval dream, centuries
passed. Men grew dominant, cities grew in size and weight, the realms had
evolved beyond the natural cycles of the Mother. The combination of this
disturbance and the direct actions of man have woken Taeranuu again.
Stirring from the dreams, he has found the degree of Balance in the realms
measurable, and therefore a need to maintain this balance has become evident
to his purpose and desires.
While his awakening was abhorrent among his kind, he holds no animosity as a
whole to the creatures of man. His physical form was cut down for reasons
he may not fully understand - perhaps the expansion of cities or other
nefarious intentions. Instead, more concerning to Taeranuu is that many of
his brothers and sisters have not yet seemed to awaken themselves from the
primeval dreams. Taeranuu Oakveil has tasked himself to ready the realms of
Serin by maintaining and upholding the balance of the land. May he herald
the rise and call to the woods - a time when treants may return again in
full.
Description:
While the sex of this creature seems impossible to determine at a glance,
his form can be identified as oak. Due to the rigidity of this wood,
separate logs of oak actually comprise his appendages - a single, wide
diameter trunk forms his entire torso, while individual logs make up his
biceps, forearms, thighs and calves. Each interconnected by an interwoven
web of vines that appear to originate from the logs themselves. The vines
function as joints and actually creating the illusion of a humanoid form. A
gigantic humanoid form. Amidst the spherical vines that form his head, his
eyes seem to be two amber pools of golden sap without any discernible
pupils. His "hair" is more or less an unkempt sprout of leaves.
