Vaelyn's earliest memories are of the elven village of Lithmareniel. The
elves were all that Vaelyn knew in his youth, but he was painfully aware
that he was not a full-blooded elf himself. They forced a certain amount of
cordiality toward him, but their voices always spoke to him with scarcely
concealed condescension. Vaelyn was passed from family to family, so he
learned a little of every craft the elves practiced. Although he excelled
in swordplay and showed promise as a young prestidigitator, his preferred
place to stay was with the weavers. Milrenia, the Master Weaver's daughter,
was a favorite playmate of Vaelyn's. They'd go for walks, climb trees, and
explore together. One fateful day when Vaelyn was fourteen, Milrenia
challenged Vaelyn to climb to the top bough of the Hoary Tree, the largest
and oldest tree in Lithmareniel. Vaelyn was terrified to climb that high,
but was even more unwilling to evince his fear to his friend. Vaelyn
climbed and climbed, always looking up and never down until he reached the
top. With courage bolstered by reveries of Milrenia's ineluctable praises,
Vaelyn finally looked down to behold Lithmareniel from his lofty perch.
What he saw made no sense to him. The entire village seemed to be gathered
at the base of the tree. Vaelyn struggled to climb down, which was even
harder than climbing up. When he finally reached the bottom he saw the
target of the villager's attention. Milrenia was lying motionless on the
ground. No marks marred her unblemished skin, yet no breath came to her.
Vaelyn was bewildered. What had happened? The elves glared at Vaelyn with
open contempt, their eyes howling unvoiced accusations. The village elders
convened an hour later and expelled Vaelyn from Lithmareniel forever.
Description:
An unusual humanoid is here before you. He is tall and muscular, with
broad shoulders and a curiously short neck. At full height he stands nearly
seven feet high. His skin is a sickly, pale green and his bristled hair is
a dark red color, bordering maroon. His face is moderately slender, with
deep blue eyes and a delicate, slender nose. His thin red lips are framed
by a neatly trimmed goatee. Long pointed ears protrude from either side of
his head.
I formed an impression of Resatimm from the boards as someone who was very evil and powerful. I've only met him twice. The first time I meet him was at North Square, where I assumed I was safe in town because he had some sort of Justice tag attached to his title, but he counted to three and then allowed some evil person to chase and kill me. I was stunned :) It was unexpected.
Vaelyn was so nice, and solid and honourable and strong - one of the best fighters in the realms. He was someone to count on and held such high ethical standards. He was 1st class all the way, consistently. I always wondered who played Vaelyn and never in a million years would have guessed it was Resatimm. Great job! I will miss Commander Vaelyn a lot.
Anyway, just an afterthought...I think when Restatimm allowed that evil character loose on me, that I actually complained to Vaelyn about it. :) Vaelyn was just so in-character and reliable, I could always count on him to tell of any perceived injustices. Here's a well deserved, big salute to you Vaelyn.
Jesus. It took long enough for you to get out of your cage and dispute my claim.
I hate it when good characters are not commented on by their players. This is why I approve forum accounts for whatever name you want if you want to hide yourself.
GOD.
I WAS NOT VAELYN. HE SUCKED.
And I have no patience for warriors. And I would never play a Justice that wasnt a psioncist with Clairvoyance. Im lazy. Justices cant be lazy.
Resatimm can pk about as good as I can now adays and that's not to good, never believe a word he says. Good job on the char that's a shit ton of hours.
So if Vaelyn really isn't Resatimm...who is Captain Crunch?? Please, don't leave us in suspense. Please. I really, really want to know. You were my hero from day one of my first character and throughout my other characters. I relied on you so much. Who are you?
I think Vaelyn was a good enough character that his graveyard post deserves alittle more respect. But.. lol
Vaelyn you were a great character. Never actually got to fight you, but I could recognize a pwnzor when I saw one. So coups to you there. I also really liked your rp I think it was superbly done and I totally approve. Overall a very great character and possibly one of the only ones I've really liked in just about every respect. I don't know you from anything before Vaelyn, Captain Crunch. But I hope your next character goes as well as this one did.
Obviously, I know Captain Crunch is a cereal. "Soggies"....I'm guessing might be the few bad puffed kernels that sink to the bottom of the bowl.
I don't think anyone is disrespecting the Captain bassball. I'm not.
I just really want to know who the player is behind Vaelyn. Please tell us Vaelyn. It's a natural curiousity. Vaelyn has been around for at least 8 months or so and this is the first time I've ever heard of Captain Crunch, the Abandoned Realms player.
OUT YOURSELF Captain, or I will think and give credit to Resatimm.
You need to offer a better form of bribery than pleading... think of it this way, obviously the player doesn't take any pride in this character, and why should he. Pimped out warrior dueling in arena with a huge inherent advantage.. boooring.

Most of the time he was wearing thews, that could be considered as pimped out tho.

Though I was in inducted under Cadarel's command. Vaelyn took over the role early on. It was always nice to have him nearby. A head strong character. Commanded respect from all folks. A great pleasure serving next to you. And in the duels I'd fought with you. Damn. They hurt. Thanks for making the game so much fun. A pity I wasn't around much in the end.

I know it's killing you (and apparently others are interested too), but if the player hasn't revealed himself or herself by now, chances are they don't want to... for any number of reasons. Just enjoy the character, and hopefully the player will make another one of this calibre.
