Hi everyone,

We've made it through another quarter of a year, and that means it's time for another exciting balance patch! Before I get into the patch notes, I want to thank the players and immortals for being awesome over these last couple of months. The world is a scary place right now and AR has been a source of light for many of us.

As you may or may not know, through a lot of hard work, the AR team resolved a TON of your open issues that had piled up on us. This effort took up the bulk of our AR time in January and February and left us feeling a little burned out heading into March. To be honest, I was a little worried that our patch goals and roadmap were a little too ambitious given the short amount of time remaining to finish all of our projects. I'm proud to report that everything came together and we even got to include some additional bells and whistles for player lairs that we think you'll love. Let's take a look at what's new, beginning with a slew of area updates that will take some of you wayyyyy back in time.

- Olyn

Areas
====

- The current of the River Adelon flowing through Seringale and Eastern Road areas has grown too strong to swim and now requires a boat.
- An explosion south of gnome village has also destroyed the beaver dam that was restricting the River Adelon's flow into the Dragon Sea to the east.
- The large hobgoblins have moved out of Gwidry and back into the tunnels of Tenebria.
- The Darkenbeast may have escaped from Tyr Unguld or it might be dead. Rumours link sightings to Gwidry.
- Tyr Unguld has accepted a new prisoner in its deepest, darkest cell.
- A mystical chain has been seen in the clouds above Seringale near the Bell Tower. What could it mean?
- The Common is now known as The Miden'nir, as it once was.
- Increased goblin activity in The Miden'nir has been reported.
- A mutinous band of ogres have left Drkshtyre to rebuild Ogre Village, along with a new quest. See Rockwort the Ogre King for details.
- A mysterious clearing has been spotted in Shadow Grove. Could it be a trap?
- Strange sounds have been heard above the Witch Wood in Emerald Forest. Who will dare investigate it?

Lairs
====

- a new "lair" command has been added to help track stats on your lair - where it is, how much volume each room has used up, how prestigious each room is, etc.
- lair doors are now destructable
- ways to destroy doors are: bash, bodyslam, kick, bodyslam, shield slam, charge, ghoul explosion
- pass door also works on lair doors
- a lair guardian construction kit has been added. use the trust command to manage the people allowed to enter your lair
- small and large furniture construction kits have been added to facilitate adding chairs, beds, etc (adds room prestige)
- examine these items for list of whatever you can make with them.
- an inspection kit has been added to allow adding paintings and other extra description (adds room prestige)
- the redecorating kit can now also rename the room (adds room prestige)
- a lair upgrade kit has been added (requires enough prestige)
- some religion vendors now also sell deployable shrines
- the torch command will now work on lairs that belong to players that deleted over 90 days ago
- a new "register" command which allows the player to stake claim to a Seringale or Valour plot to build a lair inside the town

Cabals/Coteries
==========

Consortium:

- Replaces Herald and Mystic coteries with a single overarching organization led by a single Immortal. Heralds, Mystics and new Scholars form factions within the Consortium. Factions and powers for each member are defined by self-declared dedications to various pillars of knowledge.
- A new limelight ability has been added for coterie members and immortals to showcase RP and other happenings on the website stream.

Justice:

- Justice will now accept fine payments while their item is captured unless you're an intruder.
- Justice will still not accept payments for wanted flags from the most notorious criminals or from anyone else while their item is captured.

Knight:

- Anathema flag now has some implications for both evil and neutral skill checks.

All:

- Autoinduct no longer allows people to join multiple cabals.
- Attacking a cabal's sanctum guard now puts you in pk range of that entire cabal for a time.

Religions
======

- The religion system has undergone some changes, but looks more or less the same on the surface for players.
- All 18 elements are now represented by one of our active immortals (help deity list).
- Any non-active deities are still available as alumni deities for reputable accounts and berserkers claiming dragon ancestry.
- Some deities now sell personal shrines that can be deployed in your lair. Once deployed, any benefit of being in your deity's shrine will now also available in your lair.

Race/Class
=======

- The exp cost of the druid class is now 0 (was 300).
- Fire giant berserker unquenched fury racial legacy now triggers a hp soaking shield around the giant for its duration.

Skills/Spells
========

- Plague and contagion now spreads more freely among mobs.
- Stored duplicates now save across reboots.
- Druid staff will now increase in power as the druid levels up.
- Dispel magic will no longer target druid's faerie flare.
- Weapon freeing potions can be thrown by classes who throw potions. The target can save against the affect.
- Dark-knights will no longer fail trying to move while mounted.
- Barrier and shield spells will now properly protect against material damage (mithril, silver, etc).
- Sideswipe damage is now partially dependent on the weight of the shield being used.
- Monk tattoos now show a full preview before confirming.
- Wing buffet no longer launches the monk's followers out of the room.
- Mania autoattack is now limited to players and charmies.
- The following skills are now focused during their windup and can be interrupted: overhead crush, windmill cleave, flare shot, called shot, pulverize.
- A dash now ends with fighting the last target hit in the room.

Objects
=====

- Some items in the Colors of Wizardry set have been updated.
- The neutralizer and shadow cloak, recently uncovered from the old catacombs, can be found within Gwidry.
- The comprehensive item weight audit is still underway:
- All chair and table objects have been audited for weight.
- The weight of shields, bucklers, and prayer beads have been adjusted.
- Several new bucklers have been added.

Misc.
===

- Auto-follow and flee situations will no longer enforce special movement commands like jump, climb, etc.
- This does not affect fly-only exits or no-swim situations that require either a boat, waterwalk, or fly.
- The current PK King is now selected from players who have a certain amount of recent activity.
- Relics are no longer awarded for sac'ing looted rare items from player corpses.

Walking through olyn's suped up galaxy has a nostalgia-level that I can only describe as it feels like being in a Bill and Ted movie.

Couple noteable misc additions that we accidentally omitted on this post.

- small defender potions are sold at ming in Timaran now
- companion cube (to deploy a lair pet), also sold at ming
- ethereal portal moved to Ming
- whispering battle axe no longer casts a hysteria on you while you're fighting
- its possible to build multiple lairs
- if you are in stealth mode (i.e. hiding) your light no longer contributes light to the room
- blackjack/strangle no longer has severe adrenaline penalties

If there is anything else please let us know. Please report bugs relevant to the patch the usual way and let us know how you like the updates. Thank you.

Yes that is a good question, thank you. The intended way to get it is from performing cabal duties. So if you purify an evil, fatality a deathmark, or tainted sacrifice a corpse, apprehend a criminal..etc. there's room for something new in the warlord space

A weapon rack? I don't even own "ah Sword" let alone many to necessitate an entire rack.
