I'm not actively playing anymore, but I think you could grow the player base by introducing this flag.

Introduce a 'nopvp' mode, just like nostream.

Add adrenaline restrictions and insanely long cooldown so you can't change it back. Maybe it can never get changed back.

Restrict rares, restrict uniques. Maybe they can't use them at all.

Remove any ability to join a cabal or coterie.

No nobility, no contracting anyone, etc.

Limit it to one character per account/ISP.

While many people play the game to PvP, newcomers, returners, and people not interested in PK are still potentially valuable members of the small community.

abandoned realms has no safe space. thats what makes it what it is. When you log in you are not safe. But if you want to play and rp without worry about pk than just use noexp at level 9

having more people play that you can't kill would have no impact on you. especially if rares and uniques were limited.

Any no PvP flag we have would be abused by people who want to instigate fights with people who dont have the flag, with no retaliation.

Also, Animal Crossing is far more brutal than AR. In AR you can just run around killing shit like dryads and nymph. In AC you are stuck in a never-ending cycle of debt and capitalism while you slowly swirl into depression over your dead-end job and missing parents.

I’ve raised this idea in the past - I called it a Pacifist flag - and it was met with similar skepticism. I still think it is a good idea for a new player to the game, but there is ample opportunity for abuse with people who know what they’re doing. We would have to block them from carrying rares and uniques,
block them from casting beneficial spells on anyone, and that’s just the start.

I see the potential benefits, but I also see a lot of drawbacks and room for abuse. In my mind it’s just easier to roll up a spellcaster so you can recall and run away.

I'm much more of a role-player first than a PKer, personally, and I haven't really been around/on AR all that long. A few years, cumulative.

My opinion is that people who don't want to PK are inevitably going to dislike this game, regardless of how role-play indulged the incredible lore and veteran players are. It's very pro-PK, and most of the time there isn't any warning whatsoever before someone attacks you (and further, there doesn't have to be any known reason for them to attack you).

I'd love to see some kind of 'safe area' implemented (moderated, to disable abusing the whole 'stir shit and go run to safe area' notion)... though, I don't feel like a pacifist flag would be appropriate. It would be cool to see more emote heavy role-play interaction without the threat of someone running in and killing you, but I also feel like the threat factor is something everyone that plays does enjoy.

Not expecting any kind of changes in this regard, but I felt like throwing in my two cents.
