Don't you remember you have a guild, a job to do? We have missions that
must be completed, to make our organisations prosperous. Nothing is getting
done for our guilds with you out filling the shops with useless rubbish. Pay
attention to your guildmasters! That training isn't for free you know.

Code:
'TASK'
Syntax:  TASK

In addition to the mob-runned quests which may be completed once, tasks
offer infinite opportunity to players to take part in small quests
together.  These tasks are available from several easy to find locations
in the lands.

Shops - Using the "TASK" command in a shop will compel that shopkeeper
to tell you an item that his customer base seeks.  Your task will be to
retrieve that item and return to the shop with it.  Use "TASK" again for
your reward.  You may task five different shops at once.

If you "TASK" in the shop without the object, the shop will tell you
another person in the town who wants it.  This may only be done on
one of the five active shop tasks at a time.

Guilds - Use the "TASK" command at your guildmaster to be given an
instruction to greet someone on behalf of the guild.  When you find
them, use the "GREET" command.  That someone will then send you out
to retrieve a stolen item.  Once found, you may then give the lost
item straight back, or "GREET" them again to be told where to take it.

Depending on the way you complete tasks, there may be different
rewards.

Help also available on:  QUEST

Does it matter if your pet gets the final hit on it? What if its a mob thats located in two different areas? Like, lamias in old thalos and lamias in grand thalos? Will killing any lamia do? And it might help not making aggressive creatures the target.

How 'bout a basic area thing? That would help a lot
Code:

Maraxus the berserker guildmaster says 'an old wizard is expecting a greeting from one of our guild.'

How the heck am supposed to know where he's at? There's only 15 billion mobs out there I have to look for.

It singles out unique monsters, so there's not many times you have to kill a whole bunch of same looking ones. But that does come up. Also, "an old wizard" is Grand Thalos, I think. I will give you an area name when I get back the energy typing this took out of me.

I had to kill a hellHound. There's hellHounds in mansion and in emerald. I killed a few in each spot, no dice.

Note to self, When Narak tells you to give the package to the Gorgon, do not give it to the Gorgon in Tyr Unguld... bad idea.

'task' command does not work for me...but for some reason it still has visit your guildhall as an unfinished quest that it wont let me finish so maybe that has something to do with it?

I also have had a task rolled that gave me a camo'd mob, which rendered me unable to complete the task. Had to take the package to a muscular ranger.

Ive done three tasks now, and for the amount of work involved the rewards are not worth it. One task ended in a horrible death, one I got a measly -3 mental shield, and one I got just over 2000 gold for a hell of a lot of work, I could do a task and kill a ruler for that much gold.

For the gold reward, you can expect potentially lower than regular tasks, but you'll also see a lot more consistency. i.e. everything will be 2-3k at 50. Whereas at 50 on tasks you'll roll 40 hours of shitty black platemail and things while you wait for goat horns to roll and even things out. If you don't task frequently, this method will give you more predictable results. In the long term, the gold from both is equivalent (in theory). Prove me wrong.

As for the random object, that can be anything, so yeah, -3 save mental dumb shield, but then again, you might roll -6 svs sleeves no penalties. As with shop tasks, there are a lot more outcomes you'll consider a "fail" than a keeper. Also keep in mind that this object only costed you the 2-3k you didnt collect.

Its kinda the same in the long run, just do whatever you prefer.

Yeah, but I can get the same amount of gold doing two shitty black platemail tasks in a fifth of the time it does to do that long guild task
