The High Council of Wizardy has saw fit to re-consider the old forgotten
magics, and stumbled upon startling conclusions. We have found that, Nexus
runes, can in fact be far more useful than we thought. If runes are ALIGNED
before travel the destination may be controlled.
The Academy has researched and found several destinations, which
are in our journal called HELP NEXUS. We would love to hear if
there are other destinations to find, but unfortunately ran out
of money. So, Therans, we have chosen to share our big brains
with you. In return for our knowledge of how to ALIGN the
nexus, you must repay us by experimenting, for new destinations!
(Be warned, it costs money, and we have not found the combination
for Winter yet, but we are sure it is out there.)

'NEXUS'
Syntax: align <left-rune> <right-rune>
Nexus points were raised by the most powerful savants of the old world.
They are a fast form of transport that were developed before the magic of
gating and recalling had yet been discovered. To operate a Nexus, you
must align its runes. When aligned correctly, a portal appears.
LEFT-HAND RUNES
sword dagger mace axe spear whip flail bow fist shield
banner harp sack key boat tent barrel arrow javelin dragon
RIGHT-HAND RUNES
stave wand scroll potion pill rock flame wind water bolt
crystal scales pendant clover spring cross skull book eye serpent
Here are the most simple and obvious combinations:
Seringale: mace/scales (i.e. "align mace scales")
Valour: sword/cross
Timaran: axe/book
Darkhaven: flail/skull
Keep in mind, once you ENTER the portal created by the nexus, the way
back does not remain open very long. If you get lost the other side
in an unfamiliar place, you only have yourself to blame. Opening
Nexus portals is free in your hometown. |

To add to this change I have made a series of hometown quests that the Nexus will come in very handy for. This quest is very worthwhile for newbie because it'll get you around inside the towns and finding a few decent items. Also the item reward at the end is RANDOM (in the sense that your reward is picked from four good but different items, not the "random eq" kind of random), so if you get a stone you dont like, chances are you might get a rare of another kind out of it, or be able to trade for someone else's stone after helping them to complete their quest.
These quests replace the collect gem/key/relic quest, no help from Imms with the quest, just know its out there.. and its possible for most characters who're level 25+, non-neutrals will need a bit of help from neutral players to finish it up.
To begin the quest just go to the Seringale Nexus. |
