I think we should have more options with our pets things like pet skills, like a fox should be able to kick dirt, or a human mercanary should be able to bash and the pets that are able to should be able to wear armor and weapons and get better in the weapons as we do, it would be more realistic. For example you can have a Half-elf mercanary pet you can give them the armor then oreder them to wear it and for skills when they increase there abilitys in a skill it can come up in green or some random color that says something like "I have become better at (skill)... Just an idea, It would be totaly awsome to be able to do that....

The problem is what pet skills cause in a pk - we introduce a dirting pet fox, and suddenly you find yourself being flee-lagged by hellstreaming invokers. I agree that pets could be less plain, but at the same time, we don't need them to become a decisive factor in battles. Its kinda like the old stallions issues with Knights.

maybe more flavorable types of attack or attack messages, random emotes outside of battle... I noticed I can't "pet" my pet, only "pat" it. I want to pet my pet Smile

a fox could like do ankle bites or a bull could do pierce with horns or bash with body/hoofs

or a tiger could do a flying jumpkick, that would be sweet

well, a stone giant mercenary + full hit/damage set + its own berserk ability = basically a special guard, kinda unfair. That's not even getting started on special guards getting to wear equipment... Shocked

I once tried to stroke my falcon.

That put me in a very awkward situation.

I'm not even kidding.

Ooooh, even funnier (and yes, more awkward) was this one time some Knight groped me instead of grouping me.

Mercs can wear a couple items now. Also the mercs now stay over reboots, although the items won't.

No, they just stay over reboot. It isnt really "buying", you're hiring it until your playing session ends.

Add a feature to pets to be a sort of retrieval system?

Order pet retrieve Player. Pet goes to find the player so long is the player is outside and waits with the player until the player gives the (nonrare) item to it or the owner calls it to return, then it returns. It'd move one room at a time just like with pet return. It'd be kinda awesome I think. Also can deffinetly be used for RP.

How about a mercenary falcon type, for an extreme amount of gold. It would be relatively weak, but you could use a command like TRACK PLAYER and the bird would fly off in search of the player's location. The bird would then return to the owner and let them know where the player is. If you don't want someone to know where you are with that just kill the bird. If this is too strong for the average player (thought it shouldn't be), limit it to cabals or something.

I'd rather leave more advanced stuff to class skills, not everyone should have a bodyguard/tracking falcon etc.

I still think, that pets like humans and such can start at lv 1 and grow and prehaps as they grow they can hold more things, more weight and such, Like the mercs that used to be in Valour, you could raise them, slaves prehaps? but they could hold stuff just not wield, if you could make them like mercs so they can wield it would be amazing...
