Normal massacre/mangle damage reduced to mauls/decimates through sanctuary and protection - just classic protection owning an evil aligned warrior lol, Rithgjar had no chance. Only an evil aligned monk can deal with this.

3 ranks under rhoa, I also was stupid and went where she could just summon and pwn me. On top of that all she did was flee and re-engage after id switch have advantage.for 2.seconds miss dirt get.skirmished repeat. So I dont agree ivindel I will be testing it a bit further but I'd almost bet I can kill rhoa.
The paladin class gets less hp per level, but along with holy armor, so the damage it receives is bound to look lower, and then you put protection spell on top of mitigated damage, cool deal. Tell you what, how about I reduce your warriors damage taken by 20%, but then remove riposte+dodge+bigger hp per level (probably reduce your hp by 10% or more) + strip 5 or more of your mastered weapons+ blind fighting, see if you get a better sense of how it feels to play a paladin instead of a warrior
Davairus, I am cool with the status quo. Now that I have a paladin too, I can understand some of the weaknesses you speak of, but I have also come to appreciate the strengths that warriors do not have. Why are 'neutral' warriors meant to win paladins? Is the converse true then that 'evil' warriors are supposed to lose to paladins? Why do players regret making an 'evil' warrior on their graveyard posts? The only difference I see here is the protection spell.
But don't get me wrong, I am not exactly complaining about it. I have more or less gotten past it and simply accepted that I just have to deal with it. It's just that when I see posts like this that showcase a similar scenario when my elven warrior in the past was doing decimates to a dark-knight in malicious beast, I just couldn't help but make the comment.
I am really keen to see how Rithgjar fares against Rhoa at his pinnacle. Both are good players in my opinion, so the fights will not be one-sided like when fighting against a new player, which should then provide a good indication of how such a match-up plays out.

I mean i dont really want to play a paladin. So it's stupid to rank one up just to fight your illu dav (if u even have one). On the other hand I've been the illu fighting paladins for the longest of times and I'm telling you it's a shit matchup. Up to you to believe.
With the removal of flamestrike from paladins, I would actually assume that a paladin would generally be an easy opponent... Even with the staves that cast it (and using one deprives the paladin of both shield block and set parry). Dreamstruck + dispel magic is no joke, and if the paladin is relying solely on parry there's a good chance they'll be overwhelmed by the duplicates.

True dreamstruck + dispel magic is strong. But with enough saves it takes many tries to hit the dispel. Every try that you take, you receive heavy damage from the paladin. Paladins is the few class that can maintain high saves with high hit/dam with divine sacrifice to augment it.
With the paladins spells up, your fully buffed illusions are dealing wound/maul damage. You get outdamaged heavily by the paladins esp they can heal. So why wouldn't it be a hard matchup? The paladin doesn't even need flamestrike. Lol. They can tank the illusions no kick. You guys should test it on the test servers. Lol.
The next few months is going to suck for you. No need for me to add extra coarseness on top. Just know any nerfing hitting you in any way has nothing to do with you specifically. We're nourishing the paladins because they can add a lot of RP to the game and incase you hadnt been playing lately, the level 50 scene is *incredibly* OOC . so we expect we'll be rewarded really well for building upon our most RP'ing classes, e.g. paladins. It don't even really matter if that means they are actually a bit OP in the short-term. In the grand scheme of things, the effect should be the overall RP picks up and that is better for everybody. If not, well then you had a window to play a He-Man paladin (so you seem to think) before the pendulum swings back and we get things under control, because if history has proven anything its that the playerbase will absolutely not tolerate OP paladins
I'm not saying Paladins are OP in case you're misunderstanding. They have their bad matchups for example, a neutral warrior.
The problem I see is that if the paladin gets buffed to fight evenly with a neutral warrior, he's going to smash an evil warrior. Damage is absolute in this game. How's the evil warrior going to overcome an additional 20% damage reduction if he has no heals and a neutral warrior is just going even?
In my humble opinion, I think protection should be lowered and paladins given something elsewhere to compensate for that. A huge damage reduction purely based on alignment is not a good game balance mechanic.
