The Infirmary
| This room is quite obviously where the sick and needy
| are brought for the attention of the Healers, since the
| walls are lined with beds and cots and are filled with
| the injured and diseased. Soft cries and moans are sometimes
@-G | punctuated by a shrill shriek of joy, as a patient discovers
| | they have been fully restored, often brought back from
+ | the brink of death by the skilled practitioners that
| | wander the room tending them. The entire infirmary is
+-+-+-+-+| sheathed in polished white marble, and the normal sickly

the sick are gathered is strangely absent here, and instead is replaced by
a supreme aura of peace and tranquility. The guild hall can be reached to the

North Square
B-+-* | You are at the North Square of Seringale. It is peaceful

S-+ *-o| by grand buildings made by fanciful stonework. You see

A Beer Garden
F-*-F | You step outside the Mocker's Tavern into a beer garden, filled
| | | with tables for its patrons to sit down on and chug back their
* *-* | drinks. A well-groomed carpet of grass blankets the ground
| | | | beneath your feet, and a six feet high wooden fence protects
* *-@ | the garden from the nosy intrusions of passersby on Main Street.
| There is a rather large white canopy sitting over your head,
| protecting the garden from the rain. Doors back into the tavern

[Exits: north west window]
Some tables with white chairs are arranged under the awning.
(White Aura) Ilromie the Sage of Arcane Power, Polymath of History is here.

Ilromie looks up from her note.
You say 'My friend, I would like to apologize, for myself and on behalf of Gwevym. I was not aware you had tension with the Warlord.'

Ilromie says 'He is to blame for his own actions.'
You say 'If it is so, he will seek penance from the Gods.'
You say 'Yet, if we were forbidden from traveling with them, surely the Gods would have prohibited it.'
Ilromie says 'The Gods give us free will. Should they have stayed Thalandir's hand too?'

>>> Serra recalls, during the Mystique discussion event, half of the event revolved around Ilromie's preoccupation with Thalandir... What can of worms did she open?

You say 'Thalandir preferred to die than seek repentance.'
You say 'There is always a path, if one chooses to take it.'
You say 'He did not.'
Ilromie says 'His oaths should have prohibited it.'
You say 'Dying by his own hand?'
You say 'Perhaps.'
Ilromie says 'No, Gwevym.'
You say 'I do not presume to know an oath better than a paladin.'
You say 'Their guild is near my own, but I have never set foot in it.'
Ilromie says 'In fact, the scroll allows little room for interpretation.'
You say 'It seems your mind is set firm on many things and nothing can sway it.'

>>> Distraught at how blinkered her friend appears to be, and not wishing to sit there
>>> listening to more sanctimonious preaching, Serra heads to the Traveller's Rest.

Office of the Master Scribe
| This chamber is furnished tastefully with cherry wood panels
| and the occasional matching book-laden cabinet. Spaced
* | evenly along the walls are polished brass sconces in the

*-* @ * | of a quill. The floor is immaculately swept and not a speck
| | | | of dust is to be found, thanks to the ever-critical eye

You tell your group 'Gwevym.'
Zanward tells the group 'What?!'
Zanward tells the group 'Why?'
<SCHOLAR> (Doyenne) Serra: 'When you hold such a hard line, all who do not follow you fall short.'
<SCHOLAR> (Polymath) Ilromie: 'From what facet must this be examined to see that the vendetta is not a statement of intent to murder?'
You tell your group 'I do not know truly but can only guess it has to do with what Ilromie said to him.'
Zanward tells the group 'What did Ilromie say to him?'
You tell your group 'That he broke his paladin's oath.'
Zanward tells the group 'Oh... well.'
Zanward tells the group 'Didn't he by joining with Abellyith? Ilromie loves pointing out others flaws.'
You tell your group 'I do not think he realized it would be such an issue, as I requested the aid.'
You tell your group 'The two of them were assisting me to perform research.'
You tell your group 'I had pursued all of the vampires up to Sheundan and needed assistance for the final glimpse.'
Zanward tells the group 'I'm not one to pass judgement on such on a thing.. as it's not in the law.. but I do know that the gods take paladin oaths very seriously.'
Zanward tells the group 'And, I know all too well.. Ilromie will do anything in her power to highlight mistakes. '
You tell your group 'There is a road to penance with the gods.'
You tell your group 'There is apparently no road to penance with Ilromie.'
Zanward tells the group 'She dislikes me greatly.'
You tell your group 'What for?'

You tell your group 'I write long stories.'
Zanward tells the group 'Short version.'
Zanward tells the group 'She disliked my mentor and superior.. for good reasons I'm sure. but then wielded a wild weapon in town, which I fined.. She refused to pay the fine unless I answered all of her questions.. then she was wanted... and you can probably guess the end of '
Zanward tells the group 'The story.'
You tell your group 'Hmm.'
Zanward tells the group 'Believe me.. I tried to do everything I could to help her.. including making the fine low and offering to take the weapon instead.'
You tell your group 'She has not been fond of Justice for her entire life. I have seen her in her younger days.'
Zanward tells the group 'She believes I'm corrupted now.. but I just try and be as fair as I can.'
You tell your group 'She had - has - a particular distrust of Drow Justices.'
Zanward tells the group 'I don't blame her for that.'

Zanward tells the group 'Chul was a good mentor.. but unpredictable.'
Zanward tells the group 'Or maybe rather.. very predictable.. if you assumed the worst. haha.'
You tell your group 'Ah, this Chul. I have heard his name on many lips but our paths never crossed. It seems he only became prominent when I was on my journey.'
Zanward tells the group 'Oh no! You missed it then.. was quite the chaos.'
Zanward tells the group 'He took me under his wing.. but had very few friends otherwise.'
Zanward tells the group 'I have no doubt he needed me to achieve his goals.. but it was a beneficial relationship for me. I mostly stayed out of his antics outside of town.'
Zanward tells the group 'Only once fighting a paladin that wouldn't let me gain equipment.'
Zanward tells the group 'Quite the pickle for folks like Ilromie.'
You tell your group 'Ah, I see.'
Zanward tells the group 'Step outside of town, get attacked by the king at the time. '
Zanward tells the group 'If he started to lose the fight, or get out-numbered, he could run to the safety of the law.'
Zanward tells the group 'He also would stay hidden at times.. which I didn't agree with.'
You tell your group 'Indeed.'
Zanward tells the group 'She just attempted to accuse me of evilness.. because I was doing a routine checkup of the Shaman guild.'
You tell your group 'Now?'
Zanward tells the group 'Very odd.. always looking for corruption where it isn't.'
You stand up.

A bowl for offerings to the element of Spirit rests on a small table.
A ruby-red plated belt of potency is on the table of Water.
An offering table made of pure Water stands here.
A large oaken branch holds offerings from followers of Earth.

You kneel humbly on the ground.
You say 'Lord Phostan, you may only know me as a scholar, not your follower, and I do not presume to know you as well as one.'
You say 'But know this, my friend Gwevym was always true to you, throughout our travels together.'
You say 'It is I who asked him to aid me in the pursuit of research, alongside a Warlord of dark heart.'
You say 'He did not see himself aiding evil then, only me.'
You sigh.
You say 'You have lost a follower because of it. Because of my request.'

Zanward tells the group 'I leave for now.'
Zanward tells the group 'Farewell!'
You tell your group 'Be well, sir.'
Zanward stops following you.
Zanward has left the group.

>>> Ilromie asks some Consortium business things but Serra is too upset to reply to it. Not here. Not now.
Kali tells you 'Oh Serra, I am very sorry to hear about the recent events and the passing of Gwevym.'
You tell Kali 'I am grieving for him.'

You say 'He left me his soul... but such a precious thing should not be entrusted to me.'
You say 'He said it had no value.'
You say 'He must have been so deeply hurt.'
You say 'My Lord, please accept it as a gift, from your devoted servant in his last act.'
You get the soul of Gwevym from a handy haversack.

You put the soul of Gwevym on the holy branch of Earth.
The soul of Gwevym nestles gently into the holy branch.
