[ 14]: [WARLORD] Szrevan: Clarification
Tue Nov 9 10:39:21 2021
To: warlord keeper
Hail!

Lots of confusion about why Warlords hunt the way we do, when a THREAT
appears in Serin.

We care little about the Balance, not to the extent of a Keeper would, but
we do care about an equal chance of fight for all. If there is a growing
tyrant who stomps on the heads of everyone in Serin and becomes unstoppable
by the common fighters, the Warlords would then step up to the challenge to
stop the tyrant it their tracks and show him or her the dominance of the
battlefield that we strive to exhume.

We fight to take down giants, dragons, lich kings and the biggest and
baddest that Serin can throw on our way.

We do it by upkeeping our Code of Honor, Courage, Discipline and Respect.

We do not succumb to the temptations of a mere mortal, for we always have a
higher goal that strives us, not a temporary satisfaction to dull our minds.

If the Keepers can not understand our core being and see us as someone who
pose a threat to the Balance they try to uphold by juggling the power from
one side to another with no real Balance ever being possible in first place,
then I see no possibility for this Alliance nor a Merger.

All I have to say is that if this is how little you think of our Halls, then
you are welcome to meet my blade. I stand for no disrespect towards those
who deserve none. You talk down to Warlords as if we are brutes to you.

This is not something I tolerate.

[ 15]: [KEEPER] Gerok: A shared word
Tue Nov 9 20:24:49 2021
To: Warlords Keepers
Keepers and Warlords,

By request, I've gotten myself a scribe for this here missive. It's a
strange thing, seeing me words written in too fine a hand.

I've had a long word with the Warmistress and the Serpent King regarding the
potential merger. I was open, but cautious going into this conversation.
But, the Warmistress has some interesting ideas, ones that I can see myself
getting behind. Everyone should review these terms, so ye come prepared to
discuss them come the agreed upon meeting date.

1) A merger of Keepers and Warlords with three factions. The first two
factions would remain as they are (Keepers and Warlords). The third faction
would take the oath to swear off both magic and rare objects. As a result,
they would access to select powers from both.

2) The merged cabal would honor both the Edicts and the Code. After a short
discussion, we found this to be much easier than we anticipated.

Understanding that the biggest sticking point is how to deal with threats,
this seems like the biggest point left open for debate. But, Tearea showed
great accommodation in discussing these terms. And the Serpent King is just
looking for whatever will be the biggest fight.

One thing I'm going to go ahead and say, make sure our notes be respectful
on both sides. Ain't no reason to break down our communication because
we're growing sensitive. Be open to discussion, and be respectful. From
what I can say, there's a clear path forward. And I won't lie, after
discussing the details, I'm intrigued now more than I was by the potential
for a merger.

Gerok tells the group 'Ah'll be there shortly.'

A serene underwater grotto
You find yourself in a mossy sunken grotto at the bottom of a small,
clear pool. The walls of the grotto are made curiously of the water of the
pool, which trembles but holds a firm circular form around you. A school of
fish drifts quietly by, serene in the night. A few tiny crabs scuttle
sideways out of the water to search for food between the flat rocks that
adorn the floor. An elliptical altar stands at the very center of the
grotto, with the sigil of Virgil engraved upon it. A small crystal prism at
the north edge of the altar glows with an innate light, splaying a soft
color spectrum across the altar's surface.

[Exits: up]
(White Aura) Crisbin the Steward of the Keepers stands watch patiently beside the altar.

You rest.

To: keeper
I have spent an extensive amount of time speaking with Tearea about this
merger and what her thoughts are. She wishes to go to the table and
negotiate a way forward for this alliance. I say we should have own own
meeting first. A merger like this will require sacrifice on both parts, we
need to know ahead of time what we are willing to bend on, and what is
unacceptable. I may be overstepping my bounds, but I suggest we meet soon
to discuss and get our thoughts aligned on the matter.

I propose we meet at the same time Tearea suggested, but a day prior. If
you have a better idea of the time, please write it. If I am overstepping
let me know.

[ 13]: [WARLORD] Tearea: Warlords and Keepers Discussion
Tue Nov 9 02:15:29 2021
To: Warlord Keeper Davairus Olyn

Greetings,

Having heard from everyone at this point excepting the Blademaster Shaghroth,
I believe our next best course is to have a meeting. This will be the most
effective way for answering questions, addressing concerns, and sharing ideas.
I'll hold my response to your thoughts in abbeyance until such a time comes.
having discussed in detail where I stand with both Lord Olyn as well as
Fenlorn I would also welcome the opportunity to speak with the rest of you in
person. I think the one thing we agree on at this point is that some form of
change is both desired from every party involved and acknowledged as necessary
as well. What form that change takes is on the table for discussion and we
have endless opportunity in shaping it. What I propose is that we meet three
storms hence to allow for such a parley to take place.

Let me know through scroll if this works for you and if not what times would
be best for each of you so we can have the highest participation possible.

(Saturday Nov 13th 4am UTC, surge time)

Tearea the Red Lotus, Standard Bearer of Warlords

Gerok says 'Pardon, ah go' lady luck. Jus' need a few more taijis.'

Gerok stands up.

Gerok will be right back!

Gerok swims up.

You say 'She means to meet the storm after next, yes?'

Mazin nods.

Mazin says 'Yes.'

You nod.

Gerok swims in.

Gerok snaps his fingers.

You ponder the question.

Gerok sits down and rests.

Mazin says 'So I have three questions.'

You nod at Mazin.

Mazin says 'We need to answer them before we meet.'

Mazin says 'What do the keepers gain.'

Mazin says 'What do the Warlords gain.'

Mazin says 'And is this a power grab by the Warlords.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with Mazin.

Gerok says 'A'fore we answer tha'.'

Gerok says 'Ah'll say tha' Keepers are under the impression tha' we be the benefactors o' the alliance.'

Gerok says 'Bah.'

Gerok says 'Ah mean Warlords.'

Gerok says 'No' themselves.'

Mazin says 'The Warlords believe the alliance is to our benefit not theirs aye.'

You nod.
Gerok nods at Mazin.

You say 'Yes that seems to be their feeling.'

Mazin says 'But I understand why they would think that.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with Mazin.

Gerok stands up.

Mazin says 'How long has it been just the Keepermaster?'

You chuckle politely.

Gerok whistles appreciatively.

You say 'A long time.'

Mazin agrees absolutely.

Gerok says 'Aye, bu' now we go' numbers against 'em.'

The night is about to end.

Mazin says 'Keep in mind that nothing I say is meant in disrespect.'

You say 'Of course.'

Mazin says 'If for even a second you think I step out of line straight me.'

Mazin grins evilly.

Mazin frowns.

Mazin says 'That didn't come out right.'

Mazin says 'Straighten me.'

Mazin agrees absolutely.

You say 'I understand you.'

You chuckle politely.

The day has begun.

You say 'There is no denying that the Warlords are very strong at the moment.'

Mazin says 'And this is what we have to ask ourselves now.'

Mazin says 'I poked hard when talking to Tearea.'

The sun rises in the east.

Mazin says 'What they did to legion over their offended honor...'

Mazin says 'It has left a void.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with Mazin.

You nod.

Gerok says 'Ah said the same.'

Mazin says 'That is unacceptable to me.'

You say 'That is my concern exactly.'

Gerok says 'No squashin' baby birds a'fore they become eagles, were mah words exactly.'

Mazin says 'I have no problem with personal vendetta's.'

Mazin says 'But they destroyed Legion.'

Gerok says 'Edicts dictate evil mus' be allowed to exist, jus' no' prolifera'e.'

Mazin says 'And now what will the knights do?'

Mazin says 'Now that they don't have a target.'

Gerok nods at Mazin.
Mazin shakes his head in dismay.

You wince in agony.

You say 'I've lived through that.'

Mazin says 'Must we destroy the knights now to right the balance?'

Gerok says 'Way ah seen i', we go' two options.'

You say 'That is something we'll need to consider.'
Mazin says 'Or do we need to find a way to rebuild legion for them?'

Gerok sits down and thinks deeply.

Gerok bows his head in worship of Virgil.

Mazin bows his head in worship of Olyn.

Gerok says 'Legion be rebuildin' emselves, no doubt. There be only one knigh' to try n' stoppem.'

You say 'We need to put the issue of the Alliance to rest first.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

You say 'After that is done, we can focus on other things.'

Mazin says 'I agree.'

Gerok says 'If we proceed forward wid Warlords, they ain' squashin' no cabals they ain' a' war with.'

Mazin says 'But these questions should be a part of it no?'

You say 'As Gerok said, there's only one Knight right now.'

Mazin says 'We have to know what we are willing to give, and what we are not willing to give.'

Mazin says 'We also need to know what they will offer up on the table.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with Mazin.

Gerok says 'Ah can answer some o' tha', fer now.'

Gerok says 'Affer a long talk wid Tearea n' Szrevan.'

Gerok says 'Firs', sorry if ah crossa line.'

Gerok says 'But ah told 'em this..'

You shake your head.

Gerok yells out his warcry.
Gerok yells 'Bastian o Balance, guide me blade along ye narrow path!'

You say 'Did you?'

Gerok says 'No squashin' cabals ye ain' a' War with.'

Gerok says 'N' no huntin' threats, til those logistics be arranged proper.'

The clouds disappear.

Gerok says 'If ye go' a personal vendetta, tha' be one thing. Bu' seekin' em ou' on yer own for the sake o' yer version o' the balance, ain' righ'.'

Mazin says 'I could agree with that with one exception.'

Mazin says 'Hraozen is a threat.'

Mazin says 'The Warlords can't stop him either.'

Gerok says 'They go' personal vendetta's agains' 'im fer killin' Shaghroth o'er n' o'er again.'

You say 'He's made a lot of enemies.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

Gerok says ''e's a join' enemy, with or widdou' our alliance.'

You nod.

Gerok says 'So.'

Mazin nods.

Gerok says 'Warlords offerin' some things.'

Gerok says 'They offer the secrets o' there cabal, given those ovvus who CHOOSE to rejec' magic.'

You say 'Frankly, I'm not interested in what they 'offer.''

Gerok nods at you in agreement.

You say 'My concern is the preservation of the Balance.'

Mazin nods.

Gerok says 'Ah figger, bu' there be a future there.'

Mazin says 'That is my biggest concern.'

You say 'Which is not being upheld now.'

Mazin says 'Arena battles mean nothing to me.'

Gerok says 'So main question is..'

You say 'I agree.'

Mazin says 'Testing yourself could be fun, but people could take it or leave it at will.'

Gerok nods at Mazin.

Gerok says 'It ain' mean nothin', ah see yer poin'.'

Gerok says 'No' really.'

The sun slowly disappears in the west.

Gerok says 'Seen 'ow many successes each o' them 'ad outside o' the arena? Ain' much.'

You say 'The arena has its place, surely. But it is but a sideshow.'

Gerok says 'Poin' is, though, their powers be a migh'y prize fer future recruits.'

The night has begun.

Gerok says 'Bringin' in lads who wish their secrets, bu' wish fer more than the life ovvah gladiator.'

You say 'A fine distraction and training tool. Insignificant when compared to the importance of Balance, though.'

Mazin nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

Gerok says 'An', if we proceed widda alliance.. they won' be upsettin' balance no more.'

Gerok says 'No huntin' threats, no squashin' cabals fer personal vendetta's.'

Gerok says 'All be accordin' to the edicts.'

You say 'By definition, you're right Gerok.'

You say 'But we are getting lost in the weeds.'

Mazin shakes his head.

Gerok sits down and rests.

Mazin says 'The alliance holds no value.'

You say 'Questions of powers and factions are not the main issue.'

Mazin says 'I feel it should be all or nothing.'

Mazin nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

You say 'Exactly, Mazin.'

You say 'I see you and I are of one mine.'

Yuck, try to cover your mouth next time!

You say 'Mind.'

Mazin says 'I don't care what I gain or what I lose.'

Mazin says 'I care that we either shift and refocus ourselves away from them.'

You nod.

Mazin says 'Or we join together, not as an acquisition for warlords, but as a true merging. '

Gerok says 'Tha's whaddah was clarifyin'.'

You say 'Exactly.'

Mazin says 'That would mean that while our purpose may shift a little, theirs will have to shift a whole lot.'

You nod.

Gerok says 'They be takin' on our edicts, which is wha' ah was tryin' ter say.'

You say 'And we their Code.'

Gerok nods at you in agreement.

Gerok says 'Easy enuff' fer us.'

Mazin says 'A disembodied voice was asking me questions while I spoke with Tearea.'

Mazin says 'It had several important questions.'

Gerok says to Mazin 'Interestin'.'

You raise an eyebrow at the notion.

Mazin says 'What do the keepers stand to gain.'

The night is about to end.

Mazin says 'What are the keepers willing to sacrifice.'

Gerok says 'Ah, ah almos' forgo'.'

Mazin says 'They didn't want my answers, just for me to consider. '

The day has begun.

Gerok utters in a thick, rolling brogue 'Tearea mentioned somethin'.'

Gerok says 'Abou' sacrificin' shinies, no' hoardin' em.'

[WARLORD] Aragmon the cyclops : 'Tearea has joined the halls of honor.'

You raise an eyebrow at the notion.

Mazin snickers softly.

Mazin says 'Here she comes.'

Gerok nods.

The sun rises in the east.

Mazin peers around himself intently.

You chuckle politely.

You say 'Well, my question for the two of you.'

You say 'With the question of a full merger on the table, are you willing to adopt the Warlord's Code fully?'

Gerok says 'Ah'm thinkin' so, Aye, from whaddah know ovvit.'

Gerok says 'Respec', Honor, Glory.'

You nod.

Gerok says 'Ain' nuthin' wrong widdis.'

Tearea tells you 'Intriguing, a group of keepers. We should team up and have a battle royale.'

Gerok says 'Question we all know, is if they be willin' to accept the edic'.s'

Gerok coughs loudly.

Gerok says 'Edic's.'

Gerok stands up.

Gerok bows his head in worship of Virgil.

You say 'That is a question for them.'

You say 'If any of them waver, there can be no merger.'

Gerok says to Mazin 'Whaddaya think, lad? Ye willin' ter accept their Code?'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

Mazin says 'A moment.'

Mazin snickers softly.

You nod.

Tearea tells you 'And perhaps after a discussion, if you all aren't busy.'

Gerok looks at you.

You tell Tearea 'Yes, we are having a bit of a talk at the moment.'

Tearea tells you 'I see.'

You put a tin canteen in a translucent pleated leather backpack of the gale.

Mazin says 'Alright.'

Mazin says 'Sorry about that.'

Gerok nods at Mazin.

You say 'Not at all.'

Gerok says 'I's fine, ah know ye monks be doin' wakin' sleep.'

Gerok throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!

Gerok yells out his warcry.
Gerok yells 'Bastian o Balance, guide me blade along ye narrow path!'

Mazin says 'I could accept their edicts, but only if they could fully embrace the balance.'

You nod.

You say 'Of course.'
Gerok sits down and rests.

Gerok says to you 'N' ye feel the same, Keepermas'er?'

You say 'I would put that forward as an axiom.'

You say 'I do. I would adopt the Code, because I do feel it serves the Balance.'

Gerok nods.

You say 'But only if they adopt the Edicts.'

You say 'I think the two of you understand that this is an unlikely outcome.'

You say 'It's more likely that the Alliance will be broken.'

Mazin says 'It is very likely yes.'

Gerok says 'Fer Tearea, likely. Fer Szrevan, no' so much. N' because o' tha', alliance will be broken.'

It starts to rain.

Mazin says 'But I believe Tearea wishes this very badly.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with Mazin.

Gerok says 'She be Szrevan's superior.'

Gerok says 'Code deman's 'e respects 'er judgement.'

Gerok shrugs helplessly.

You ponder the question.

Mazin says 'A part of me wonders if this is something she views as her legacy on the lands.'

Mazin peers around himself intently.

You say 'That makes me uneasy.'

Gerok says 'AH'll tell ye.'

Gerok says 'She wishes access to our armories.'

Gerok says 'N' is willin' to forgo all rares to do i'.'

The night has begun.

You say 'I wouldn't want to have people in our Fortress who do not zealously believe in the importance of Balance.'

Mazin says 'I agree.'

Gerok says 'Aye, ah'm with ye on tha'.'

You are thirsty.

You say 'If they agree only because they've been ordered, I'm not interested.'

Mazin says 'She proposes factions.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with Mazin.

You say 'I dislike factions.'

Mazin says 'I don't think that is a great idea.'

Mazin says 'I say all or nothing.'

You say 'Exactly.'

Gerok says 'Hmm, then tha' makes me the minori'y.'

Mazin says 'Obviously I am only a Stalwart, but you seem to be in agreement.'

Mazin grins evilly at you. Hmmm. Better keep your distance.

Gerok says 'Bu', ah defer to the majori'y.'

Gerok says 'Now, if we do one faction, tha' means we give up our magics, aye? n' they give up their shinies?'

You say 'Yes.'

Gerok whistles appreciatively.

You say 'In all, I think that's a smaller sacrifice for us.'
Gerok says 'Well, ah'm all ferri'. But Szrevan won' be.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

Gerok says 'We gain much outa tha'.'

Gerok says 'Magic be our advantage agains' em.'

Gerok sits down and thinks deeply.

You say 'Partially. Their Powers are quite strong.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

Mazin says 'Tearea speaks of grandfathering members.'

You say 'It is really only a problem for those not yet inducted.'

Mazin says 'I don't like that idea either.'

Mazin says 'But I could live with it.'

Gerok closes a dragonwing pleated leather backpack of unerring flight.

Gerok says 'it wouldn' change much for us. We swear off magic, n' ge' access to their stances.'

You say 'I'm not a supporter of that.'

You nod at Gerok.

Crisbin softly sings a tune, causing the fish to circle the grotto in harmony.

Gerok says 'They sacrifice all their shinies, n' ge' access to our armories. They'll be weaker, although learnin' to forge weapons, expose armor'

Gerok says 'These be nothin' to scoff a'.'

You say 'Indeed.'

Mazin snickers softly.

Gerok says 'A'ri, so we in agreemen' fer our mee'in.'

The sun rises in the east.

You say 'I think so.'

Gerok says 'All or nothin'.'

Gerok says 'Full code, full edic's.'

You nod.

Gerok says 'Tha' be i', then.'

Gerok stands up.

Mazin says 'Actually.'

Mazin says 'There is one more thing to discuss I think.'

You say 'Yes?'

Mazin says 'But it may not be important to you.'

Gerok sits down and rests.

Mazin says 'It won't matter to Gerok and I because like I mentioned we are only Stalwart.'

Gerok says 'Ah..'

Mazin says 'The Warlords have a leader, and they have two blademasters.'

Mazin says 'That doesn't leave much room for rank at this time.'

Mazin says 'What would that mean for you?'

You ponder the question.

You say 'I had not considered it. The Balance was my focus.'

Gerok says 'Tha' be admirable of ye.'

Mazin says 'I do not believe you should go into this as anything less than a senior member, someone with a say in the happenings.'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with Mazin.

Mazin says 'I did broach this with Tearea.'

You say 'Knowing the ways of the Warlords though, if we were to merge, I think that Leadership would be decided by Combat.'

Gerok throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!
Mazin says 'And this is why I believe Tearea wants this very badly.'

Gerok stands up.

Gerok bows his head in worship of Virgil.

Gerok sits down and rests.

Mazin says 'Tearea would be willing to step down if that is what was called for.'

Gerok says 'Trial by ordeal be a fine way to decide.'

You raise an eyebrow at the notion.

Gerok looks at you.

You say 'Is that so?'

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

You are sober.

Gerok says 'She be honorable in nature.'

Mazin says 'I am not saying it is, but her words made me respect her more.'

You say 'A very interesting thing.'

Mazin says 'I have been trying to make sure I consider everything.'

Gerok says 'Aye, ain' gonna lie, ah used ter fin' 'er daft.'

You say 'Well, that will be decided when the time comes I think.'

Gerok nods.

Mazin agrees absolutely.

Gerok says 'Bu' ah foun' 'er o' late to be a though'ful type, actin' wid honor mos' o' the time.'

You say 'And it's not of great concern to me. If the Balance can be better protected by the merger, and I think there's a good chance it can, then it should be so, whatever my position ends up as.'

The sky is getting cloudy.

Gerok nods in enthusiastic agreement with you.

Mazin nods.

Mazin says 'Well said.'

Mazin drinks water from a tin canteen.

Mazin drinks water from a tin canteen.

Mazin drinks water from a tin canteen.

Mazin gets a Magic Mushroom from a dragonwing pleated leather backpack.

Mazin eats a Magic Mushroom.

Gerok says 'Ah think a successful merger secures the future o' Keepers be'er.'

Mazin gets magic dust from a dragonwing pleated leather backpack.

Gerok says 'Ah think we be unique individuals, ye mos' of all, Keepermas'er, fer bein' a' this as long as ye 'ave.'

You say 'But if I get the feeling that the opposite is true, I will break the Alliance. And the two of you will have to prepare for many battles.'

Gerok throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!

Gerok says 'Well i's abou' damn time!'

Gerok stands up.

Gerok yells out his warcry.
Gerok yells 'Bastian o Balance, guide me blade along ye narrow path!'

You smirk.

Mazin says 'I didn't join the keepers with a fear of battle.'

Mazin peers around himself intently.

Gerok claps at Mazin's performance.

You say 'Of course not.'

You chuckle politely.

  1. This takes place immediately before the 2v2 battle royale

    1. I appreciate the reads. I appreciate the efforts by the players shaping the ball of clay they were forced to hold. I'll give an A+ for efforts by all the characters involved with trying to make this debacle, they inherited from a practically silent change a few months ago, work.

Otherwise, I'd scratch every bit of it.
      1. It was fun to rp it out.
      2. I'm tired of writing you can have a deathmatch any time you want , its clearly not getting through. Henceforth, I will invest that energy into nerfing overpowered gear.
      3. I’m tired of writing that if you want us to fight, our Keeper powers should work against Warlords (because they haven’t since I joined), it’s clearly not getting through. Henceforth, I will invest that energy into not arguing on the internet.
      4. Let me explain the difference....
        Your option....
"Hey buuuuuddy, ya want to have a duel? We can do it to the death too. Then we can go gain relics together!"

        The better/correct option....
" 'insert warlord name", You have over reached, and are disrupting the balance. You will feel the weight of the Keepers at all costs, and numbers. Prepare yourself. The day of atonement cometh soon, and swiftly to you."
      5. Xenyar should join keeper and push for this, if thats what he wants.
      6. Cabals are just a crutch for a buncha average-skilled players. There, I said it.
