* everybody starts with a "-100" armor class naked and sleeping, they get a bonus from dex. the target number starts at -10.
* take that -10 and add your armor/10 to that. that's your target number. now, that number does get increased/reduced by various things, including but not limited to getting dirt kicked or blinding your opponent (anything you can do to reduce their hitroll helps too --- in this log, the curse did it), but that's roughly what youre getting. this subjects to diminishign returns once your armor is 150, at that point you are adding armor/50 not armor/10, so you might at extreme end get this number from -10 to +25... most people are gonna be somewhere between 0 and 10
* this number is your target number that you need to beat to hit your arrow
* roll a dice (d20) and add your hitroll/2 to your roll. if your roll beats that number you win.
* if you have been paying attention, 20 hitroll is probably enough to hit an average person at level 50. a ranger can get this from like warcry and making a ranger bow.
if you went full damroll against an elf paladin, then got cursed with the first heavenly wrath, this is probably the worst case. he can parry you too. so you deserve to lose the fight. and we can see from the log that is happened, shouldve realized you were fucked when the curse landed
