  1. Any logical reason why Justice can mark criminals while sleeping?
    1. Same reason they can gtell? -- it has long been that way, not sure if it has ever been different. I'd guess its so theyre not sitting ducks!
    2. On the thief's point of view it is completely reasonable to expect the whole town's NPCs to go on alert after the sheriff gets KO'd. We would expect no different if we headshot a cop dead in grand theft auto with no witnesses. It is a game, and that is how dangerous we all wanted breaking the law to be.

      I think an argument against it would be based on the point of view the player is seeing it from. If all you see is "A sudden pain erupts in your skull." then it means he did not see who did it and this flag with zero evidence for it is a corruption of Justice. I dont imm Justice anymore but in my book that was a demotion offense because you could argue you know there's no other thief online (due to having detect hidden) which removes plausible deniability. which is why inducting shadows into Justice is particularly hard on thieves, and all shadow Justices should be treated like the Judas's they are
    3. Fair points. But on the evidence front "Bonfo tells you 'Is Kumiko coming after you?'" That would be two thieves able to commit the same crime. This may be my lack of knowledge of game systems. Is it possible to sneak into a room occupied by a player with detect hidden active without being seen?
    4. That's moot, because of how mechanics work. if there's two thieves in PK range, that means you can't flag those thieves for blackjack at all, not even if you also see them step out of the shadows to blackjack you. not under any circumstances. it would look the same on screen as if the other thief just vis'd to send a tell or reply at the same time. Plus even in this case, where there is no "step out of shadows" that could've easily just been me or Resatimm that decided to KO him. Its a dick move, but possible. I guess it should be left up to the Justice imm , but this is 20 years old stuff. It was definitely a demotion under Odoacer and Ertryien, and me
    5. Considering that they can see detect hidden, I doubt it showed up as someone blackjacks you. Kumiko could see Vargan clearly when it happened. Pretty sure when I could see thieves blackjacking me it didn't say someone.
    6. Having the message "A sudden pain erupts in your skull." followed by "You go to sleep." always reminds me of Vhrael providing his classic headache remedy.
    7. PS. When someone blackjacks you the above messages appear to the victim if the "thief" is successful. You get no smoking gun so to speak unless they fail as far as I know, even with detect hidden.

    1. We had a duel to death with Kumiko in the city and he looted my titanium plate, dagger, sash, maybe some gold.. I do not even mind, cause it can happen after one perish, but
      usually happens outside duels.. not so hard feelings about it.

      I know the justice was around and the law well enough, just right at the gate I believe switched weapon i think and then this followed i had committed petty crime I think I did not do and was falsely convicted..

      As my permanent death is so close, I just try to characterize thief what they suppose to do, mostly I have not been that lucky before, at the adrenaline rush I lost sense of time and run away, perhaps could of steal some more even..
      Just making it to the gate was fine for a getaway seems..

      Hard to fight when justice can reveal thieves hiding spots also..

      Now as a criminal flagged and breaking wheel inevitable i somewhat enjoy it even more giving it a second go...
