Comments

  1. Good fights. I wanted to see how stupid searing is, now I know. Just searing after rage in every fight, then switch a couple of weapons. Not much to do after that, while I sit here twiddling my thumbs with no fury gauge.
      [reply to Orus]
    1. Good fights indeed, all 3 of them. As soon as you hit me a few times, it HURTS. So a lot of rng involved definitely. If i'd miss searing, I'd be dead meat.
        [reply to Mazush]
      1. The logboard helps the game to get feedback and adjust course if we need to. Something isn't working great? Just bring it up and it'll help guide the process. Its not worth it to just suck things up. Ok to some extent there is probably change aversion and nobody likes look like a whiner. But when things are legit game breakers please raise the flag and you'll find out if other people feel the same way.
        1. There's also the fact that I have trained sweating and panting for 30 hours just to get these skills mastered, exactly for fights like these. Nobody likes to backfire and die, hehe.
        2. Training had nothing to do with it, I have just as many hours trained. Rogues shouldn't be able to go head to head with a berserker like that.
        3. So a reckless, unprepared combat should always beat someone who awaits for the cooldowns to come back up, makes sure his mana is full for the ghost dodge skill, anticipates and pre-emptively reacts to every single combat move that berserker can toss out while making sure to keep weapon AND combat advantage at 99% of the time and playing it as cautiously as possible?

You got me to 5% hp just by typing rage and facerolling random skills while I worked like a frog trying to beef myself up for it.

Yes, the searing shuriken can MAKE or BREAK a fight. If it would not land, I'd sit there with a delay and a thumb in my ass losing tons of mana while getting pummeled to death by a raged berserker.

Thankfully it worked! But surely, it all must be that ONE SPELL. Next time I just don't even bother, I just make every key on my keyboard cast the searing shuriken and go roll myself to #1 I suppose.

Sorry for venting but I am just tired of ignorance.

We had a good fight, you got a bit more unlucky than I did, is it so hard to accept that? I have gotten owned by plenty of fighter classes previously even when wearing a "supposedly cheated" eq.

I am just really fed up right now...
        4. Relax. I'm not attacking you personally as a player/character. I am just stating on a basis class vs class level. I already stated the fights were good, and I learned things about shadows more.

You can be super pre-emptive and awesome as you want, but rogues just shouldn't be toeing 1v1 with a berserker three times in a row. Training and equipment was basically identical with no advantages or disadvantages. Blind has always been a berserker killer, so I see an issue here with searing hitting very often on a berserker, especially after rage, as essential they can't get rid of it or walk it off very easily.

I was not using random skills, I was using the only skills I can use after I've raged and I have no fury bar because I'm blind and I can't build it up.
        5. You're basically saying that searing is unfair because you can't play the way you want to play against it, which would be to rage immediately and go from there. But that has long been the key decision that berserkers need to make when fighting a class than can blind - do you risk getting completely boned while being raged and blind for the possibility of dealing out crazy damage?
        6. Sorry, lost part of my earlier comment. I was trying to say before that that if searing has such a big impact on you while raged, then maybe don't rage when fighting shadows? Just because one of his skills can have a big impact on one of your skills doesn't mean the matchup is pre-determined; it just means you have to approach it differently. Beat him up without raging (particularly if you get style advantage), then rage on him when he's hurt so much it won't matter if he blinds you.
        7. No, berserkers could essentially only be blinded by...blind before. Dirt kick can be wiped with rage with defiance, and hard to land after raged. Forms of blind can be cured obviously with gyvels and having high mal armor.

Lol, yes thanks for the mechanisms of how to play a berserker, I am quite well versed in playing a berserker. It's not just rage or roflcakes. I am mostly bringing up searing here as a potential issue, but I've posted quite a few bugs on fury gauge I think that's messing up zerker mechanics. This is only 1 of 3 fights where searing landed first hit, which lasts longer then dirt, defiance cannot defend against it, so you're really screwed after. Other classes that blind (other then dkn), cannot just change weapons after and role you after you rage. Incase you forgot, rage isn't just about a damroll+hp boost. It also means getting hit alot harder from ac reduction, losing one defense and no ability to change weapons.
        8. What ever happened to hobbling the rogue and bodyslamming it into oblivion? One trick ponies get countered easily.
        9. And before that, rage didn't wipe dirt kick. So again, the key decision for a zerker was when to rage with the possibility of dirt fucking up their day.

Your second paragraph is simply underscoring my point. Looks like shadows have a skill that dramatically counters rage - so as I said, maybe stop raging immediately on shadows?
        10. Before that was power of roy. How much before you want to go?

Not rage immediately on shadows, got it. Thanks for the tip, my play will now be drastically increased.
        11. I'd be pretty angry if I was Orus and I was getting these retarded replies tbh
        12. What's so retarded about pointing out that there's other aspects to playing serker than just insta-rage and cheese bodyslam?

If you don't even bother with hobble/combat/weapon advantage or shit.

3 fights, he never bothered to hobble, just rage and i'd just spam shuriken until blind, then go ghost dodge mode. Like meh what?
        13. Well the general options are we can either lower the chance of blindness or we can provide a way to heal, or both. I don't feel like just outright removing it, because it's fun and avoidable with saves already. I am more than happy to add searing shuriken combustion to defiance procs to fix berserker case. If there are any other suggestions just put them down.
        [reply to Davairus]
      2. People get away with wearing 0 saves against Shadows nowadays because of the utter blindness dust nerf (and strangle).

Shadows are a hybrid. You need saves vs DK don't you? Wear saves and avoid blind.

Next time I will post a similar whine when I eat sleep from a Necro or a misdirection from Illu or ecstasy from Vamp or blind from DK.

Seriously... Nerf everything to hell because one person refuses to wear saves! Ok! Sounds good!
        1. Shadows are not hybrids, they are rogues. And the way to play them is to be more stealth, thieves abit more so then shadows. Wear your opponent down with annoyance, catch them offguard ranking etc., which especially holds true fighting against a pure melee class like berserker. That's why you have their hide skill. Dkns, paladins and bards are the hybrid classes.

Shouldn't be able to walk up to one full health with sanc and just searing and chill. I am bit unsure of why searing is added in the first place. Not I'm advocating for it's removal or anything. As shadows have blind dust and dirt kick? They are the only class with 3 different types of blind attacks, others have a maximum of 1. Adding it to defiance would be a bandage on berserker cases, but maybe something else could work in all instances. Maybe chance for searing to backfire on the shadow also?
        2. They are as much as hybrids as dks and paladins nowadays... These things were introduced to encourage different kind of gameplay.
