Now jes so ye know, an as ye can be seein', it ain't me plan ter fight Kaio with any help from me shaman pal Zakzaer. Once seein' Kaio heal 'imself up from pretty hurt beside his friend, it changed all o' me plans. Meself ain't complainin, mind ye - meself did go give Aragmon a bit o' a nudge afterall.

Today when this happened, I looked in the rules of "cabal conduct" and found that loitering actually became allowed at some point, at least three years ago.       2. So just so I understand, let me break this down. Legion invades Warlod cabal. Warlord returns and fights in cabal during invasion. People bitch because Warlord is defending his cabal. WTF?
        1. That seems to be what this log says but its not the info I got. I will look into this more and make sure that everything is cleared up. The rule about don't loiter is OK though.
        2. People like bitching about cabal defense now a days. It's the hot thing. I try to bitch about less mainstream stuff. Keep it fresh.
        3. I think it might be reflective of the (lenient) changes over time. Standing in any cabal used to do damage every tic. There was a time warlords couldn’t use any magic items. There was a time warlord rangers could not use pets. There was a time (until recently?) monks could not be warlords. Before monks entering warlords, there really wasn’t much point in running to the guardian at awful condition because nobody could really heal up there (and in fact you would take that damage per tic).

          That being said, I also recall a time where people would immediately run to guardian and heal/not move from there at all and that was fine (not a brave move but also not breaking any rules).

          The discussion looks like it’s more of a question of what can you not do vs what should you not do? I.e. rules say you can run to your guardian but cabal Imm is saying you shouldn’t (I think - I don’t mean to be putting words in Lorne’s mouth). The difference between doing something that you can not do vs doing something you should not do, is probably the end result: I.e. break rules - get in trouble, do something you shouldn’t do - lose face/get called names.

          I think based on the log with Kaio being in awful condition and Hirendan standing there spamming murder, if Kaio had tried to run away from the cabal instead of run in to the guardian, he would have just died a lot faster.

      3. i will add my opinion onto these facts - it is obvious what the legion is doing. they are trying to knock the front door to get the other guy to come over for a fight. the rules say you have to return (do not ignore attacks on your cabal). That was followed to the letter. The guy then went to the guardian allegedly to heal while in the fight. what the legion is doing is calling foul on other rule (do not encourage attacks on your cabal). But the guy was already forced to his cabal to defend it 1 minute previously. So basically, you raid a cabal to get a guy to return to the cabal, then complain he's encouraging attacks by being in his cabal? That's actually retarded as fuck. Because the Legion raided cabal already, there is a period where calling bullshit is actually itself bullshit.

      5. I'm still not clear on this. At one point in time, after Cabal B tags Cabal A's door guardian to draw out Cabal A, is Cabal A no longer considered to be defending? In my mind once Cabal A flushes Cabal B off their path and Cabal B leaves the cabal grounds, Cabal A is *NO LONGER DEFENDING* because Cabal B is no longer invading. Only once Cabal B tags Cabal A's guardian again would Cabal A be defending. Until then, Cabal A should not be re-entering their cabal grounds. To do so would be inviting combat into their cabal which is expressly not allowed.

        5. It sounds to me like people want all the pros without any of the cons. For example:
          Legion wants to kill Warlord, Legion steps into cabal path and forces Warlord to come "defend." Legion is in control of Warlord's actions. That's a big pro. Warlord comes to defend with the aid of his cabal guardian. That's a big con for Legion (it offsets the pro mentioned 2 seconds ago, making things "fair").
          But Legion doens't want any cons, he just wants pros. So Warlord isn't allowed to be near his own cabal guardian inside his own cabal that Legion entered moments ago. So Warlord is having his hand forced and controlled by Legion.

          People are just whining they aren't getting their cake and eating it too.


          What if Legion invades Warlord and immediately after Warlord invades Legion? What now? Is offense a good defense? Everyone loses? lol.

If you guys throw in the 1min grace period after invasion and all, it's dumb. There are too many IF this happens, you are allowed, otherwise you're not.           The legion invaded, they exited the cabal, period. No reason to go back in to the cabal guardian. In my opinion, there is no 1min prior invasion, 5mins prior invasion. If you don't want to fight, you walk away once they exit your cabal. They invade again you return and sit at the guardian. They exit you exit and run again, no reason to enter the cabal if the enemy isn't INSIDE. That's my take on this.

      6. My take on this is that the cabal guardian acts as a strong, tanky mob that initiates and draws the aggro from any intruders - this is what, I believe, most people are complaining about since it provides a huge advantage in terms of combat.

        In an actual cabal defense, fighting at the cabal guardian would make sense to me. However, when the intention of the aggressor intruding upon the cabal grounds is simply to draw the target out of hiding due to his target's obligation to defend, then the target returning and then sitting at the cabal guardian despite after the aggressor had left the cabal and path does not make sense to me.

        Personally, I had been in the positions of both the aggressor and the target before, and my impression had always been that once the aggressor had left the cabal grounds, I am never allowed to continue to stay within the grounds or at the guardian (I had been uninducted before because of loitering), even if I am on the losing end of the fight.

        One of the cons of playing a cabal character had always been the obligation to defend, and this balances the cabal powers and benefits from being a cabal member in my opinion.

        To put it in another perspective using an example, aggressor comes invade to draw out target, target comes back and both fights at the path or nearby, target loses the fight (but not to the point of close to death) and goes to the cabal guardian to heal, causing the aggressor to lose the advantage of a well fought fight since pursuing the target to the cabal guardian will most likely turn the tides in most cases.
        This is just shitty in my opinion.
        1. To add onto this, I seem to recall one of my first caballed characters being told that dying was acceptable if it got somebody to leave the path. Granted, this was before the changes where it became so easy to capture the items... But I suppose the point still stands. At least one cabal has no reason to continue intrusion if a target has been taken down (Justice). Those who are not caballed often care more about killing the cabal member than taking the item too.
        2. The invasion flag I talked about adding to the game has been added to the game. The flag lasts based on how much time you spent trespassing, and its duration is controlled by a natural mathematical algorithm.
