I laughed because clearly who cares if he sacrifices red dragon it's harder to get than mithril armor. Instead it seemed to me he didnt know to sacrifice instead tried to take them that's why j chuckled. Recap. 1:didnt know he was a newbie because I am not a mentor 2: drows hate mithril that's why his mithril was sacrificed and finally 3 its mithril armor he doesnt even have to request it just spend 15 minutes regaining it.

        1. Alright so the comments are all supportive but lets be fair, we would all sac this guys red dragon eq if given the opportunity. I'd definitely try to full loot after reading this too. Its gross and he knows it. Serra showed amazing restraint not saccing. So I think actually I would like to give some good advice to the low level good align player involved in PK here. So here it is.

          First of all the mithril and mithril mace looks like a great choice. You were up against a drow player and you had hitroll equipment (which is appropriate) and also hitting the material vuln (good choice) and I guess you had bless up. the calm is also nice choice. This is low level enough for a faerie fire to also really help.
          I just think the icicle and probably red dragon equipment is effective too and enhanced damage would put him slightly ahead.

          It looks like the main reason you're out damaged is because the other guy is the aggressor. He gets to attack first, and when he attacks you don't swing back so you are going to end losing. Its a free round every time he gets to initiate the fight. However, if he is pursuing you, then you can always attack first. That is very important to remember - if people are over-aggressive on the chase, you can actually flee and tee off as they walk into your room mindlessly. Flee and attack to spank the guy until he turns tail. You could also set your wimpy really high so if you are attacked first, at least you get the cheesy auto-flee without taking all the damage.

          I see this went into an escape phase. The running needs improving, and the number one way to improve what I saw is just to learn the number of rooms from the west gate to the colossal tree. It is 12 rooms. If you over-spam there, this guy will simply catch up and punish you for that. If you move precisely here you can actually summon people causing them to walk into the spiderweb. I don't want to write out a plan because then its ruined, but I think recall potions are important. You have to have the plan now and not thinking of it on the spot because the high emotions of pk'ing may reduce you to primal instinct and that means whatever you had rehearsed doing is what you end up doing. People get good at running because dying is embarrassing, so that will come along just by playing more. But if you wanna get ahead on that curve, I suggest that you prepare some escape routes. Maybe you could run to ofcol or Valour and try to get the guards to assist (I dont know if they do anymore at level 22). I would probably try to get him on the river so there's no more dirt kick. Also dont forget about dispel magic for the fly scrolls. It would really ruin his day to dispel him on the river if he had forgotten a boat. As well you can try to curse the guy and then recall away. Use your spells and neutralize his efforts . Dont be discouraged! He has 0 saves, you can do it.
          1. Thanks for the comments. I don’t know areas very well - why I made this character is to explore and learn the world (just made it to Valour the other day). I did get hit by a lag trying to walk west too many times. I don’t think I can win a fight currently as I barely do mauls when groupmates do capital letter damage... maybe I can learn more when Serra is older.

            I’d also like to mention I’ve had arbitrarily aggressive encounters twice on this character and it seems like whoever is playing them thinks I am someone else.
          2. Serra I think healer was a great pick for an exploration class. Just remember that you can assume every evil out there will probably want to kill you. You can use know alignment to see if you should be worried about someone or not. Don’t be afraid to ask other goods or neutrals for help if you feel outmatched. I know I would definitely help a healer at that rank if I was on a good and he asked for help against an aggressive evil. Awesome advice from Davairus too, that’s a bonus.
          3. I had a thread recently where I said that it was bullshit that its been made difficult to see evils. When you play a good align character the evils literally run at you and gank you as quickly as possible. This happens at all levels. I recently saw a level 42 elf invoker get gangbanged and full looted by different pairs of level 50 evils at least 3 times in under 20 hours.

It was hard to ask anyone for help as Serra literally awoke, walked into town to write a note, was instantly ambushed at her guild and then died at the forest to the west. I guess the lesson here is don’t go to town to write notes... Well, slowly learning!

          1. I don’t know if they were yelling, I think it’s just a communal feeling of like “that didn’t really look necessary”. Full loots are pretty disheartening to newer players. It could go either way - it could toughen them up or turn them off. The Imms would have a way better perspective on this because they could see full loots and see if people keep playing that char or not. Looting is totally a part of the game but I think here it just looked a little mean spirited - if you kill a guy and still have almost 100% hp they aren’t really a threat so full loot/Saccing isn’t really needed to knock down the threat level.
          2. The perspective I'm sitting at is mithril if it was living wood I would have left it because whatever not mithril is my weakness. And from an rp perspective who is to say he doesnt melt some of his gear at the fireforge and make a mithril staff of assbeating. Wasn't to be a dick but because I'm a drow.

The rage and aggression people at times let out in this game (this is a good example) is only going to run new players and people that are halfway decent off, or make them mean and nasty too. The point of full looting someone is to screw them over. Understandable at 50 when you don't want them to just pop back up and attack you. At level 22, it is just being super aggressive and mean for no reason. You're fighting a storm giant healer at level 22 you might as well be fighting goblins in the goblin village. If you think that level of combat deserves full loots, smh. Also rolling up new characters to PK certain established chars in game is totally part of the game, so not sure what tsk tsk is about.

          1. I don't think the looting makes any difference. This character is going to run into Drexl at some point and go through the same process and not care about whether the mithril was looted. And its poor RP, because that Drexl character is unlikely to ever see the ass whupping come-uppance it deserves since it isnt levelling up. This is more of an opportunity to point out that silent pk'ing low level characters and posting logs tagging #dunked isn't doing much other than satisfy the person doing them. Eventually levelling up into a hostile range with a notorious reputation makes Shoani objectively much better in my book.

          4. I’d like to also post that not everyone taking a long time at a rank is doing it for the purpose of PK (as suggested by Shoani in a post above). Serra is taking her time so that she learns where things are, has her own character development and finds out what her spells do. She’s a giant and learns slowly and carefully. Ranking goes really fast and it’s kind of disorienting to suddenly wind up with 10-15 new spells after a surge (without even enough practices to learn all of them).
