Born to a human woman, the small baby was quickly whisked away by his
father and taken to an elven village. The elves opposed the two living
amongst them as the child was not of pure blood and the father having
disgraced their race. The elders allowed the two to reside with them, but
it was far from a happy life. The child was bullied, ridiculed, and
attacked nearly every day for being only half-elf. While he was still very
young, even some of the adults joined in the attacks against the child, and
he had had enough. Leaving a note to his father explaining how he could not
live amongst the "goodness" of the elves any longer, he gathered some things
and left the village. After months of wandering and starving, he finally
found a cave that looked to have someone living in it. As a storm was
coming, he decided to take shelter inside. Despite the wind and thunder, he
finally fell asleep. He was woken by kicks in the ribs and as he recoiled,
he saw it was an older man with a large mess of white and wired hair yelling
at him to get out. The child quickly stood up, kicked the man in the shin,
and yelled in his face about having no where to go. The old man paused and
looked at the child's weak and starved body, but then grunted and gave him a
nod. For weeks the man taught the child how to properly survive in the
wilderness and he was successful. After some time they became fond of one
another, but the child gave no name so the old man gave him one. Jinatsu.
When Jinatsu became strong again, the man started giving him odd tasks in
which Jinatsu did not understand why. Though he was patient, eventually
Jinatsu asked what the point of them were and that's when the man told
Jinatsu to perform the motions and unexpectedly attacked. It was then that
Jinatsu learned the man had been teaching him how to fight. For years the
two lived and trained together, all the while speaking about the crudeness
of elves in their self-righteous ways. Through the man's travels, Jinatsu
learned it was more than elves who share those values, and is what had made
the man decide to become a hermit. Eventually, however, the man said to
Jinatsu that he had to experience the world for himself and not just the
ramblings of an old man. And so, Jinatsu left the man to gain worldly
experience.
Description:
Somewhat short, stocky, and solid is a dusty half-elf with long, scraggly hair that seems to be thick, black yarn and covered with dirt. His face, barely seen through his mess of hair, seems round but with a defined jaw and chin. Narrow eyes and a thick nose, Jinatsu seems to have a perpetual scowl that also seems like a smirk. His clothes are dusty and in places downright dirty, like his black fingernails.
