Born in a volcano-ravaged land in the east, from the beginning Pok's life
was filled with conflict. While growing up, he spent the majority of his
time with his older kin, leading him to early maturity. The culture he was
raised in espoused the values of personal strength and solo combat: youth
were taught early on that it is best for everyone to solve problems in
combat. This left most adolescents bruised, scarred, and occasionally
maimed.
His parents worked as mercenaries, often hired by Darkhaven or
freelancers in the area. Accustomed to conflict, Pok fought with his
parents often, usually leaving him battered. When he was fourteen, during a
particularly brutal conflict with his mother, he cut off her left hand and
claimed victory. He followed later that year with a series of disputes with
his father, leaving Pok with a series of scars on his face.
As he aged, he learned to harness his anger, directing it towards
whichever thing was bothering him at the time. Eventually he grew able to
consistently defeat his father in disagreements and knew it was time to
travel the world. He left his home with high esteem, bold and brave.
Description:
A mound of molten rock seethes with heat before you. This giant moves slowly and deliberately through the world, leaving a trail of heat in his wake. His skin is the color of spent embers, dull black with cracked lines of maroon throughout. A black nest of tightly curled hair forms many enormous dreadlocks down his back, each decorated with metals.
